Sudden bleeding after two months of pregnancy

Sudden bleeding after two months of pregnancy

In modern life, people's fertility is declining year by year, which has brought great pressure to families and society. There are many manifestations of reduced fertility. Among them, the greatly increased probability of miscarriage after pregnancy is the main reason. This is because changes in women's physical conditions lead to insufficient ability to become pregnant. For example, what happens if you suddenly bleed when you are more than two months pregnant? Let’s take a look at the explanation below.

1. Early miscarriage

Endocrine dysfunction, corpus luteum insufficiency, hypothyroidism, uterine lesions, maternal diseases, trauma, chromosomal abnormalities and other factors can lead to poor embryo development, causing decidua basalis bleeding, separating the placenta from the uterine wall, and stimulating the uterus, causing uterine contractions, promoting cervical dilation, and causing blood to flow out of the cervix.

The amount of bleeding gradually increases, the color changes from dark to red, and there is pain in the lower abdomen that becomes more and more severe. When the embryo is expelled, bleeding increases; after the embryo is expelled, bleeding decreases or disappears.

What needs to be noted here is that physiological bleeding should not be mistaken for early miscarriage. Some pregnant women may still have a small amount of menstruation during their period, but they do not experience any pain or discomfort during bleeding. This situation is generally considered to be a physiological reaction within 3 months after the implantation of the fertilized egg, commonly known as "miscarriage leakage". It has no effect on the pregnant woman and fetus, so no treatment is required.

2. Ectopic pregnancy

An ectopic pregnancy is also called an ectopic pregnancy. The fertilized egg of an extrauterine pregnancy dies early due to lack of adequate nutrition, causing the decidua basalis to lose the support of sex hormones and exfoliation bleeding to occur, or the embryo ruptures the fallopian tube, causing blood vessels to rupture and massive bleeding to occur.

Vaginal bleeding from ectopic pregnancy is accompanied by sudden severe lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision, cold sweats, pale complexion, cold hands and feet, and in severe cases, fainting, low blood pressure, shock, loss of pulse, and even death.

3. Hydatidiform mole

After 2 to 3 months of pregnancy, irregular vaginal bleeding occurs. Some women may have multiple heavy bleedings. The amount of bleeding is small at the beginning and is dark red. Later, the bleeding stops and comes and goes, and recurs repeatedly. The discharged blood may be mixed with "blood bubbles".

There is generally no abdominal pain in this situation. Only before the hydatidiform mole is expelled and when the uterus contracts violently, there will be severe labor pain, heavy bleeding, shock, etc. Severe symptoms of hydatidiform mole should alert people to malignant hydatidiform mole.

4. Cervical polyps

Some pregnant women suffer from cervical polyps. Due to the vigorous blood circulation in the uterus during pregnancy and the sharp increase in female hormones, the cervical polyps can become congested, edematous, and enlarged. Therefore, the cervical polyps may bleed continuously in small amounts after sexual intercourse or spontaneously.
