Are breast tumor-like nodules serious?

In recent years, more and more women have been suffering from breast cancer. Some are discovered in time and can be cured through surgery, while some have already spread the cancer cells and can only face death. Nowadays, women have routine physical examinations every year. The breasts and uterus are the key parts of the examination. Some women’s physical examination reports contain the words breast nodules and breast tumor-like nodules. Are breast tumor nodules serious? You can find out.

1. Smooth breast fibroadenoma

Breast fibroadenoma is a benign tumor of the breast that is more "favored" in young women. The clinical manifestation of this disease is usually breast nodules. Generally, they appear alone, but a few patients have multiple cases.

A typical fibroadenoma feels like a glass ball, smooth and very mobile; some are located deep in the breast tissue and are covered by the overlying breast tissue, or are relatively small and cannot be clearly felt by hand. For some patients, it is easy to be confused because of severe breast hyperplasia. Patients are generally advised to undergo an ultrasound or mammography examination, which can reveal a substantial, intact encapsulated mass in most cases. What needs to be reminded here is that mammography should only be performed in special circumstances or for patients over 40 years old. Avoid unnecessary examinations.

Although it is a benign tumor, it is generally difficult to eliminate it by taking medicine alone. The academic community generally recognizes that the best treatment for breast fibroids is surgical removal. Remember one thing, what can be eliminated by taking medicine is not breast fibroadenoma, but may be nodules of other diseases.

2. Painless malignant tumors are a "tough guy"

Patients usually seek medical treatment only when they discover nodules in their breasts. These nodules are generally painless, so they may have already reached a certain size when discovered. Don’t think that only painful nodules are breast cancer. In fact, the ones that don’t hurt are actually the “tough guys”!

Breast cancer nodules have various shapes, uneven surfaces, and varying textures. Most are hard and may even feel like a stone to the touch. Some types of tumors are rich in cells and may feel soft or even cystic.

Malignant tumors are less active than benign tumors. Here we need to remind everyone that whether it is breast cancer is not determined by whether or not a nodule can be felt, but depends on pathological examination. Therefore, no matter whether the examination shows nodules or not, don't panic and listen to your doctor's advice.
