I'm having some contractions. Is it time to give birth?

Before the baby is about to be born, the pregnant mother and her family must make adequate preparations to welcome the arrival of a new life. When the baby is about to come out of the mother's belly, it will also bring many signs to the mother's body, and uterine contraction is a particularly obvious physical sign. However, only when the uterine contractions are too frequent does it mean that the baby is about to be born. Some pregnant women in the late stages of pregnancy will worry that the slightest uterine contraction may be a sign of the baby's birth.

Six prenatal signs that the expectant mother is about to give birth

1. Fetal sinking

The first sign that the pregnant mother can feel is the sinking of the fetus in the abdomen. The entry of the fetus into the pelvis indicates that delivery is not far away. When the baby enters the pelvis, the pregnant mother can feel that the pressure under the chest is reduced compared to before. At this time, the pregnant mother's breathing becomes smoother. Of course, as the fetus sinks, the feeling of pressure in the pelvic area also increases.

2. Fetal movement decreases

We know that when the fetus develops to a certain extent, we can feel fetal movement. The fetal movements are relatively active at that time, but when the fetus enters the pelvis, the fetal movements will decrease accordingly. This is because the fetus enters the pelvis and its range of movement is restricted, making it difficult for the baby to move.

3. Uterine contractions

Uterine contractions are divided into true contractions and false contractions, so pregnant mothers should pay attention to them and learn to distinguish them. If the contractions are irregular, they are false contractions. If the contractions become more and more regular, you should pay attention, as these are real contractions. The occurrence of true uterine contractions means that delivery is not far away. Therefore, once uterine contractions become frequent, intense and regular, pregnant women should go to the hospital immediately to prepare for delivery.

4. Labor pains

Labor pains are associated with uterine contractions. The strong contraction of the uterus can cause temporary hypoxia, which in turn triggers labor pains. Moreover, uterine contractions will cause the fetus to move slowly towards the cervical opening. When uterine contractions and labor pains occur, pregnant women should cooperate with doctors to breathe skillfully, so as to create conditions for a smooth delivery.

5. Seeing blood

Under normal circumstances, 24 to 48 hours before delivery, the pregnant mother's vagina will discharge brown, pink, pink or mixed with red blood, which is one of the signs of delivery. When a pregnant woman sees blood, she should go to the hospital immediately to prepare for delivery.

6. Water breaking

This is a more obvious sign. Water breaking means that the baby is about to be born. Water breaking usually occurs several hours before delivery. After the amniotic sac ruptures, the amniotic fluid flows out through the expectant mother's vagina.

During the period of waiting for delivery, pregnant mothers must pay attention to their physical changes. Once the six pre-delivery signals appear, they must go to the hospital immediately to wait for delivery. In addition to bringing the prepared delivery bag, the family also needs to store the hospital and doctor's phone numbers in advance, plan the route to the hospital and calculate the time, and try to take flat and unobstructed roads.
