Why is my period so short?

Why is my period so short?

Even men have some understanding of women's menstruation, and they all know that the menstrual cycle is about 30 days, so many men remember their girlfriends or their menstrual cycles, which can be very helpful for contraception. However, in life, some women find that their menstrual cycles are becoming more and more irregular, and sometimes the cycles are particularly short. Why is this?

1. Psychological factors

Women nowadays need to face pressure from all aspects. As a result, their spirits are always in a state of high tension. If this continues for a long time, their endocrine functions will inevitably be affected. When the balance is disrupted, menstruation becomes more frequent and the cycle becomes shorter.

2. Central nervous system-hypothalamic abnormalities

In addition to environmental changes, excessive stress, mental shock, etc., which can cause abnormalities in the central nervous system-hypothalamus, weight loss, anorexia nervosa, excessive exercise, and even drug stimulation may also affect abnormalities in the central nervous system-hypothalamus. Of course, certain congenital diseases or female brain malformations, brain tumors, etc. can also cause abnormal hormone secretion.

3. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding

For adolescent women, shortened menstrual cycles are also related to the immature development of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and ovarian functions; for menopausal women, shortened menstrual cycles may also occur when they suffer from dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

4. Luteal insufficiency

For women of childbearing age, if the fixed luteal phase of a woman becomes shorter, then the menstrual cycle will also become shorter.

5. Gynecological diseases

Some gynecological diseases can also change the normal menstrual pattern. For example, severe uterine fibroids can change the amount of menstruation and also cause symptoms such as excessive menstruation, frequent menstruation and shortened menstrual cycle.
