What does an enlarged cervix mean?

For women, cervical health is very important. It is directly related to women's fertility issues and will also affect their healthy life. If you suffer from diseases such as cervical cancer, the harm will be very great. It will cause very uncomfortable pain symptoms to the patient, and may even require cervical removal, which will definitely affect the patient's future quality of life. Sometimes beauties go to the hospital for a gynecological examination and the result will be that the cervix is not large. What does this mean?

What does an enlarged cervix mean?

Some couples are preparing to have children and go back to the hospital to check whether they are healthy and whether the female body is suitable for conception. Some women may inadvertently hear the doctor say that their uterus is not large, but they don't know what it means and worry that it will affect their fertility. So, what does it mean to have an enlarged uterus?

If a woman hears her doctor tell her that her uterus is not large, she can rest assured. What the doctor means is that the uterus is developing normally and there is no problem with conception and childbirth. Doctors say this because the uterus itself is relatively small compared to the human body. However, if the uterus has other diseases, such as cervicitis, the uterus will become larger due to muscle relaxation, so a small uterus does not mean that the uterus is well developed.

However, although a small uterus means that the uterus is well developed, a uterus that is much smaller than the normal size also means that the uterus is underdeveloped. The length, width and thickness of a normal uterus are approximately 7-8cm, 4-5cm, and 2-3cm respectively. If it is much smaller than these three values, it is too small, which will cause irregular menstruation and very severe dysmenorrhea in women. However, artificial cycles can be used to enlarge the uterus.

The size of the uterus has a relatively large impact on fertility. When the three data are at least greater than or equal to 9cm, childbirth will generally be smoother. Whether it is successful is mainly affected by the female's hormone level. If the hormone level is normal and the female ovaries can ovulate normally, conception can be normal even if the uterus is small. It's just that the woman will feel more uncomfortable during pregnancy.

A small cervix indicates that there is no chronic cervicitis and this is normal. Chronic cervicitis, cervical cancer and other diseases can cause cervical hypertrophy.

The thickness of the endometrium changes with the menstrual cycle. If you do an ultrasound just after your period, it is normal for the endometrium to be thin. A small cervix means there is no inflammation, which is a good thing.
