I don't have my period and I have stomach pain

Abdominal pain without menstruation may be caused by stomachache, or it may be caused by eating the wrong food or indigestion. There are many reasons for abdominal pain in women, not only during menstruation. Therefore, when female friends have abdominal pain, they should know the causes, and then treat it according to the cause of the disease to control the disease in time.

What are the most common causes of abdominal pain?

Whether you have a mild stomach ache, severe pain, or cramping, abdominal pain can have a variety of causes. For example, you may have indigestion, a bad tummy, a stomach virus, or, if you're a woman, menstrual cramps.

It’s important to note that there is a difference between abdominal pain that comes and goes and abdominal pain that is constant. If you have persistent pain, go to the hospital as soon as possible. But if you think there are other reasons, it could be one of the seven.

1. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

"Many patients with IBS experience increased symptoms during stressful times, such as during final exams and shortly after a medication change," says Dr. Sonpar. However, as the condition worsens, the direct cause of the symptoms is not stress. Experts believe that the effects of stress hormones can trigger intestinal irritation, leading to diarrhea and constipation.

And when the gut becomes sensitive, its muscles can also contract violently, sometimes causing IBS and stress, which Dr. Sonpar used to call "gut paralysis." If the symptoms are not appropriate, you can visit a gastroenterologist to review your eating habits and use medication to relieve symptoms.

2. Muscle pain

The causes of abdominal pain are not only intestinal, but also simple muscle pain. What hurts the abdominal muscles is the steep movements of the muscles in daily life, and when it hurts, it starts to hurt. To improve, resting the abdominal muscles and replenishing water are effective.

3. Constipation

Constipation seems to cause a wave of abdominal pain in various parts of the colon. This painful area can change as the intestinal muscles contract, causing the stool to harden. If the pressure required to move stool is high, the colon swells and begins to hurt. Constipation can be avoided if you increase the amount of water and dietary fiber in your meals. Additionally, you can use supplements to improve your colon.

4. Inflammatory bowel disease

It is an autoimmune disease in which antibodies attack the gastrointestinal tract, causing ulcers, bloody diarrhea and abdominal pain, and is treated aggressively with antibiotics. Confirm whether this is the cause of your abdominal pain by undergoing blood tests and medical endoscopy.

5. Ovulation

Lower abdominal pain that accompanies ovulation occurs about 14 days before menstruation.

Prostaglandins are secreted to trigger ovulation and contract the muscles of the uterus and intestines. According to Mr. Minkin, oral contraceptives that stop ovulation and reduce the amount of prostaglandins used can effectively relieve this pain. Anti-inflammatory drugs such as enoxaparin and naproxen have the same effect.

6. Intestinal gas

The most common cause of abdominal pain is gas accumulation in the intestines, but there may be an overgrowth of intestinal bacteria or no disease at all. This type of abdominal pain is very embarrassing and is accompanied by frequent flatulence. If you tolerate it it can cause your colon to swell and cause cramps, so this type of abdominal pain is something to be wary of.

7. Diverticulitis

In this case, the cause of the problem is the digestive system. The intestinal wall swells, causing high fever and nausea with severe abdominal pain. If your symptoms are mild, you can get by with rest, a slight change in food, and antibiotics, but if your symptoms are severe or recurring, surgery may be necessary.

Lifestyle changes are a major cause of pain. Eat a healthy diet, exercise, and avoid smoking and excessive alcohol to reduce your chances of experiencing some of the causes. Good hygiene practices, especially hand washing and avoiding materials and foods contaminated with viruses and bacteria will reduce your chances of becoming ill from many causes of infection.
