Bilateral nipple discharge

Bilateral nipple discharge

The symptom of bilateral nipple leakage may be a breast disease, or it may be physiological milk leakage during lactation. We should judge the cause of the disease based on the period of onset. For the symptoms of bilateral nipple leakage, if it is during breastfeeding, we just need to drain less milk. However, nipple leakage caused by breast disease needs to be treated in time, as it may cause breast cancer.

Bilateral nipple discharge is a breast disease. The incidence of this disease is not high, but due to increased pressure and faster pace of life, the incidence of this disease has gradually increased, accounting for 10% of breast diseases. This disease is divided into physiological and pathological conditions. This disease should be treated as soon as possible because it may become cancerous. So what causes bilateral nipple discharge?

1. The lactation phenomenon during lactation is physiological nipple discharge, which is normal. In addition, physiological nipple discharge may also be caused by oral contraceptives or sedatives. In this case, women should pay attention to nipple hygiene and keep them dry. Physiological nipple discharge does not require treatment.

2. Generally, nipple discharge that requires treatment is pathological, which refers to nipple discharge that occurs when a woman is not breastfeeding or pregnant. This situation is caused by disease. Unilateral or bilateral nipple discharge is a benign lesion. Generally, bilateral nipple discharge is the main gynecological disease. If there is a lump in the breast, it is likely to be cancer and should be checked as soon as possible.

3. Bilateral nipple discharge usually occurs in female patients between 30 and 40 years old. If the disease occurs before the age of 40, it is generally benign. If the patient is over 50 years old, the chance of cancer is very high. Therefore, if there is nipple discharge, do not turn a blind eye to it. You should actively check and treat the symptoms, especially to prevent the occurrence of cystic breast hyperplasia.

Note:

There are many reasons for bilateral nipple discharge. Patients can undergo B-ultrasound examination first during treatment. This method is very accurate in examining the causes of benign breast diseases. Patients are especially reminded: If the nipple discharge is pathological, it must be treated as soon as possible to avoid cancer, which is more difficult to treat.
