What is a endocervical gland cyst?

Modern women are under great health pressure. Due to the heavy pressure of life, many women have developed various difficult and complicated diseases, which seriously disrupts their normal life and brings great health risks to women. For example, gynecological diseases are an increasingly common type of disease in modern life, threatening the health of most women. There are many types of gynecological diseases. Let’s take a look at what endocervical glandular cysts are.

Cervical glandular cyst is also called cervical Nabothian cyst. Cervical Nabothian cyst (also called "Nabothian cyst") is a common manifestation of chronic cervicitis, just like cervical erosion and cervical polyps. During the healing process of cervical erosion, the newly formed squamous epithelium covers the openings of the cervical glandular ducts or extends into the glandular ducts, blocking the openings of the glandular ducts; the connective tissue around the glandular ducts proliferates or scars form, compressing the glandular ducts, causing the ducts to narrow or even block them, and the drainage of glandular secretions is obstructed. The cyst formed by retention is called a cervical nabothian cyst. Cervical cysts are inflammations rather than tumors. Under long-term inflammatory stimulation, a small number of patients with chronic cervicitis have a tendency to malignant transformation and require close attention.

Clinical manifestations

Cervical cysts generally have no symptoms and are usually discovered during a gynecological examination. Examination revealed multiple bluish-white vesicles of varying sizes protruding from the surface of the cervix, containing mucus. Some were as big as rice grains, some were as big as corn kernels, and some could grow very large, protruding from the surface of the cervix and even reaching the vaginal opening. The roots were connected to the cervix by a pedicle, and were often accompanied by cervical hypertrophy.

When cervicitis occurs, the main symptom is an increase in vaginal discharge. Due to different pathogens, the color, amount, and properties of the vaginal discharge are also different. Leucorrhea may be sticky and purulent, and in some cases may contain streaks of blood or a small amount of blood. In very rare cases, there may also be contact bleeding.

treat

Cervical glandular cysts are common in clinical practice, with no discomfort symptoms and generally no need for treatment; if accompanied by inflammation, medication or physical therapy may be given. Giant cervical cysts are rare and can be treated surgically.
