What is the disease of hard lumps in the vulva?

For many women, they must take good care of their genitals in daily life, because this part will be affected by many factors and may suffer from some diseases. For example, some women lack care for their genitals in their daily lives, which results in bacterial growth and gynecological diseases. So the question is, what is the disease that causes lumps in the vulva?

Folliculitis is an inflammation of the hair follicles caused by Staphylococcus aureus. The female vulva is covered with pubic hair from the mons pubis to the skin outside the labia majora. In daily life, because the vulva is easily contaminated with urine, feces and leucorrhea, the skin of the vulva is often in a humid environment, and this humid environment is very suitable for bacterial growth. The disease is prone to occur on the head, neck, buttocks, perianal area or other parts of the body, and tends to recur. It often occurs in multiple places, is stubborn in nature, and is difficult to cure.

In addition, the estrogen level in menopausal women decreases, causing the resistance of the skin and mucous membranes of the vulva to decrease. Therefore, if menopausal women do not pay attention to the hygiene of their vulva or have abrasions on the vulva skin, the hair follicles and surrounding tissues there are easily infected by bacteria, causing vulvar folliculitis. In the early stages of the disease, symptoms such as pain and redness of the skin may occur in the affected hair follicles and their surrounding areas. As the disease progresses, the affected hair follicles may gradually form pustules surrounded by red halos and are tender to the touch.

A hair may stick out from the top of the pustule (if there is pus, a small white dot may appear on the top of the pustule). Sometimes one hair follicle is infected, sometimes multiple. If the inflammation gets worse, the infected hair follicles may form boils.

Causes

Folliculitis of the genitals is often caused by decreased immunity, poor hygiene of the vulva, secondary bacterial infection (mostly Staphylococcus aureus infection), or damage caused by pulling, friction, and scratching of the hair. Bacterial infection, sleep, diet, environment, gastrointestinal function, sweat gland secretion, physical constitution, vitamin deficiency and other factors can affect it. This is also the cause of folliculitis. If you suffer from genital folliculitis, you should keep your genitals clean and take a bath frequently. Limit the use of alcohol and spicy foods. Eat more foods rich in vitamins, trace elements and high protein.

symptom

Symptoms of female folliculitis include redness, swelling and pain around the hair follicles of the vulva, which gradually form cone-shaped pustules with a pubic hair protruding from the center. Pustules may be multiple, and adjacent small pustules may fuse together to form large pustules, accompanied by severe congestion, edema and pain in the vulva.
