How does the test strip show that ovulation has occurred?

A woman's body only releases one egg per month, so couples who are trying to conceive can better prepare for pregnancy by testing the woman's ovulation time. In addition to calculating the time, you can also use ovulation test strips to determine the ovulation period. However, many women are confused about the results displayed by the ovulation test paper. If they use the ovulation test paper after ovulation, how should it be displayed?

How does the ovulation test paper show after ovulation?

1. Under normal circumstances, a woman's ovulation time is about 14 days before the next menstrual period. However, due to external and internal factors, the human body will not ovulate at a fixed time, and it may be advanced or delayed. Therefore, you should test ovulation a few days in advance, usually 17 or 18 days before your next period.

2. The changes in LH hormone in women during their menstrual cycle are reflected on the test paper. The ovulation test paper is negative during the safe period. When ovulation is about to occur, it will change from weakly positive to positive and strongly positive. After reaching the peak, ovulation occurs an average of 16.5 hours after the peak. After reaching the peak, the LH hormone drops rapidly. At this time, the test paper will show a weakly positive result. Then, it slowly turns negative. There are individual differences. Some girls may still test weakly positive, which is generally not a problem.

3. Because the LH hormone is changing and the time when it reaches its peak is not fixed, when the test is weak positive and close to positive, if you test it once a day, you may miss the peak time and don’t know the time of ovulation. Therefore, it is best to test it twice a day (once every 6 hours or so).

4. In summary: ovulation testing should start 17 or 8 days before the next menstrual period, and should be continued until ovulation is confirmed. When the test result is weak positive to positive, test twice a day.

Methods of monitoring ovulation

There are many ways to monitor ovulation, which can be done by self-monitoring or through hospital examination, but the most reliable method is B-ultrasound examination.

1.Basal body temperature method. Basal body temperature refers to the body temperature when the human body is in a state of complete rest. It can more accurately reflect the function of ovarian ovulation and the corresponding endocrine changes. After waking up in the early morning, before getting out of bed, women should not do any movement. Place a thermometer in their mouth and under their tongue for 5 minutes, then take it out, read the temperature and record it on the temperature record sheet. Then shake the mercury column on the thermometer to below 35.5 degrees, put it back in place, and try again after waking up the next morning. In addition, the temperature record should also record whether there is a cold, fever, insomnia, sexual life and menstruation. Detailed records will help doctors determine the function of ovulation.

2. Cervical mucus method. Cervical mucus is produced by special cells in the cervical canal. The amount and nature of cervical mucus changes with ovulation and the menstrual cycle. During a menstrual cycle, cervical mucus is like egg white, with low viscosity, smooth and elastic. The thumb and index finger can be used to pull the mucus into very long threads (up to more than 10 cm). At this time, the vulva feels noticeably moist. It is generally believed that the secretion is clear and transparent like egg white. The day with the longest stringiness is likely to be the ovulation day. On this day and the 3 days before and after are the ovulation period, and sexual intercourse can be arranged every other day.

3. Ovulation pain feeling method. Ovulation pain is a symptom of ovulation. Ovulation pain is a clear sign that ovulation is occurring. It is the best time to arrange sex. However, you cannot rely solely on the feeling of pain to determine the ovulation day.

4. Schedule method. Among women of childbearing age, most ovulate 12-16 days (14 days on average) before the next menstruation. The estimated ovulation date can be counted back 14 days from the approximate date of the next menstrual period. If your menstrual cycle is 28 days, you can arrange sexual intercourse every other day between the 12th and 16th days of your period.

5. Ovulation test paper. Do not drink water 2 hours before taking the ovulation test. Do not test with morning urine, it is best to test between 10 and 20 o'clock. It is recommended to start testing on the tenth day of menstruation, and test once a day. If you find that the color is gradually deepening, you should increase the frequency of testing and try to get a strong positive test. If you find that the color is getting weaker, you should arrange sexual intercourse. Ovulation occurs after the color of the test paper weakens.

6. Use B-ultrasound to detect ovulation. Among the methods of predicting ovulation time, vaginal B-ultrasound is the most intuitive method. It can show how many follicles are developing in the ovaries, their size, whether the time of ovulation is approaching, etc.
