Nipple pain is a very common phenomenon in normal times. Many people have similar experiences. However, most people tend not to take it seriously when they experience nipple pain and hardening, thinking that it is caused by lack of rest. In fact, hard and sore nipples need to be taken seriously. It may be caused by breast disease. It is best to go to the hospital for active treatment. What causes nipples to become hard and painful? Observe whether it is the ovulation period or the menstruation is coming. If it is, it may be related to the hormone level in the body. However, if not, it is recommended that you should not stimulate the breasts, relax, and observe. If conditions permit, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for a color ultrasound examination to see the internal condition of the breasts and rule out the possibility of breast hyperplasia or breast nodules. If there are no other changes in the breasts, pay more attention to rest, don't be too tired, and don't be angry. However, if there are other conditions with the breasts, symptomatic treatment may be required. 1. Breast pain during adolescence: It usually occurs between the ages of 9 and 13. The pain will disappear on its own after menarche. 2. Premenstrual breast pain: Many women experience breast fullness, hardness, and tenderness before menstruation. In severe cases, the breasts will become swollen and painful with the slightest vibration or collision. This is caused by increased estrogen levels in the body before menstruation, breast hyperplasia, and edema of breast tissue. The above changes may disappear after menstruation. 3. Breast tenderness during pregnancy: Some women experience breast tenderness and pain around 40 days of pregnancy due to the placenta and villi secreting large amounts of estrogen, progesterone and prolactin, which causes the breasts to enlarge. In severe cases, the pain may last throughout the pregnancy and does not require treatment. 4. Postpartum breast pain: Breast fullness, hardness and pain often occur 3 to 7 days after delivery. This is mainly due to breast lymph retention, venous congestion, interstitial edema and obstructed mammary ducts. 5. Breast pain after abortion: This is because the pregnancy is suddenly interrupted, and the hormone level in the body drops suddenly, causing the newly developed breasts to suddenly stop growing, resulting in breast lumps and breast pain. 6. Breast pain after sexual intercourse: This is related to the physiological changes in the breasts during sexual intercourse. People with low libido or disharmonious sex life cannot achieve sexual satisfaction, so breast congestion and swelling are not easy to subside, or they subside incompletely. Continuous congestion will cause breast pain. It is normal for nipples to become hard and painful in the above situations. Especially during menstruation, similar situations are more common, so we don’t need to worry too much. However, in recent years, the proportion of women with breast lesions has been increasing year by year. If you encounter abnormal breast swelling, you must not ignore it. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for examination in time to rule out the presence of disease. |
