How to relieve pain when weaning

How to relieve pain when weaning

I originally thought that I had entered a safe period after giving birth, but I am about to enter the breastfeeding period. During the breastfeeding period, the child has to suck the nipple constantly every day, which will cause the nipple to crack easily and cause inflammatory diseases. I finally have to wean the child off breast milk, and I am faced with breast pain caused by weaning. During the weaning period, patients need to pay attention to the breasts and take good care of them. The milk accumulates in the mammary glands, causing pain and inflammation.

Methods of weaning

For many mothers who have a lot of milk and are preparing to wean their babies, weaning is an issue that needs to be taken seriously, because improper weaning methods may cause great pain to the mother. When some mothers are weaning their babies, in order to stop producing milk as quickly as possible, they dare not squeeze out the milk when their breasts are swollen, and just let the swelling and pain continue. As a result, they develop mastitis and cause themselves a lot of trouble.

How to stop breastfeeding naturally

Weaning is the last step of breastfeeding. There are two methods of weaning: natural weaning and artificial weaning. Generally speaking, natural weaning is the scientifically recommended method. Natural weaning is a gradual method that reduces the baby's sucking and stimulation of the nipples, allowing milk secretion to naturally decrease until milk is completely weaned. Natural ways to stop breastfeeding include:

1. Reduce stimulation to the nipples. For example, reduce the number of times you feed your baby every day, lengthen the intervals between feedings, and shorten the duration of each feeding. Also, avoid washing your breasts with hot water.

2. Do not express the milk completely. If your breasts are uncomfortably swollen, you can express the milk, but don't express it completely, otherwise it will promote milk secretion and have the opposite effect. You can use ice packs to cool your breasts to relieve the feeling of swelling.

3. Eat more foods that help with weaning. Such as barley tea, maltose, leek, pepper, aniseed (fennel), MSG, ginseng, hawthorn, chocolate, bitter melon, malt, raw loquat leaves, scrambled eggs with toon, malted milk, raw hawthorn and other foods. You should avoid eating foods that promote milk secretion, such as peanuts, pig's trotters, crucian carp, soups and other protein-rich foods, which can reduce milk secretion.

4. The time for weaning is important. Do not wean your child in the summer, because the weather is hot in summer and the gastrointestinal digestive function is weakened. If you add too much complementary food to your child after weaning, it will easily cause indigestion or even gastrointestinal diseases such as diarrhea. Do not wean your child when he is sick, because your child's resistance to disease is poor, his digestive function is poor, and his body is very weak. If you wean your child at this time, it will inevitably affect his physical recovery and even aggravate his condition.

5. Do not use force or intimidation to wean your child. It is not advisable to force children to wean by applying spicy, bitter or colored substances on the nipples. Complementary food should be made to look, smell and taste good so that children will like to eat it. Over time, children will no longer want to drink milk. ...
