At this time, further examinations are needed to understand the specific reasons, and then carry out good treatment in time to avoid greater impact on women's health.

HPV positive

Now let’s give you a brief scientific introduction to the cervix: A normal cervix looks like a pink, smooth donut and is elastic to the naked eye. It is located in the lower part of the uterus, is approximately 2.5-3cm long, connected to the uterine cavity at the top and the vagina at the bottom. The cervix is the housekeeper of the uterus and can act as a barrier to protect against invading bacteria. It also plays an important role in the reproduction and fertility process.

The physiological function of the cervix is manifested in that the mucus secreted by the cervix changes with the menstrual cycle. Around the time of ovulation, cervical secretions will become egg white-like, facilitating the passage of sperm and increasing the pregnancy rate. At other times, the cervical mucus is thick, which can effectively prevent bacteria from entering the uterine cavity. After pregnancy, the uterus will continue to grow, and the cervix still needs to "guard the door" and remain closed to ensure that the fetus can stay in the uterine cavity until full-term delivery. During labor, the cervix softens and begins to dilate, facilitating the delivery of the fetus.

The cervix is also one of the areas where gynecological diseases are most common.

Common cervical diseases include cervicitis, cervical polyps, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, cervical cancer, etc. Cervical erosion is no longer a disease, but it requires treatment when it is complicated by inflammation. The most important thing to prevent cervical cancer is to do a good job in cervical cancer screening. Even if HPV is detected to be positive, there is no need to worry too much. Most of the time, our own immunity can clear it, and it takes about 10 years from HPV infection to cervical cancer. Therefore, there is no need to panic when the HPV test is positive. If necessary, colposcopy, biopsy and LEEP knife can be performed for further diagnosis. If diagnosed with cervical precancerous lesions, treatment is required depending on the situation. LSIL that persists for more than two years requires laser or LEEP treatment, and cone biopsy is recommended for HSIL patients over 25 years old. If you unfortunately get cervical cancer, surgery is the first choice for treatment in the early stages, while radiotherapy and chemotherapy are needed in the late stages.

The ideal time to get the cervical cancer vaccination is before you have sexual intercourse. It does not matter if you are sexually active or have had an HPV infection, as basically no patient will be infected with all viruses at the same time. It should be noted that vaccination with the cervical cancer vaccine is not a one-time thing. After vaccination, everyone should still remember to undergo cervical cancer screening on schedule and not be careless, so as not to miss the best time for treatment.
