18 weeks pregnant buttocks pain

18 weeks pregnant buttocks pain

Some pregnant women feel pain in their left buttocks sometimes, and sometimes in their right buttocks during pregnancy; and it hurts when they walk, as if they have twisted their buttocks. If they sit for a long time, there will be a vague pain in the buttocks, and sometimes there will be a tingling sensation when they stand up or sit down. What is the reason for buttock pain in 18 weeks of pregnancy?

Why does my butt hurt during pregnancy?

During pregnancy, as the pregnancy progresses, the uterus gradually expands, the waist's bearing capacity continues to increase, and the round ligament of the uterus relaxes due to long-term stretching, causing the sacrospinous ligament to relax and compress the pelvic nerves and blood vessels, causing many pregnant women to feel back pain. This type of low back pain usually subsides gradually as the waist muscle tension recovers after childbirth. The causes of low back pain in early, mid and late pregnancy are different. Low back pain in the early pregnancy is not likely to be very severe, the pain is relatively mild, and most patients suffer from back pain. Low back pain during this period is usually caused by the retroverted uterus, compression of the duodenum and tendons, so pregnant mothers do not need to worry.

The reason for low back pain during the middle and late stages of pregnancy is mostly because the rapid pain of the fetus causes the uterus to gradually expand and the abdomen to move forward. In order to maintain the body's balance, the upper body compensates by leaning back, resulting in excessive lordosis of the spine and continuous tension of the dorsi extensor muscles, which leads to excessive fatigue of the waist and back, and it is easy to get low back pain. Generally speaking, the symptoms can be relieved after rest.

In addition, during pregnancy, the baby's development requires sufficient nutrients such as calcium and phosphorus. If the intake of nutrients in the diet is insufficient, it will cause the pregnant woman's bones to grow, become soft and decalcified, and also cause low back pain. Excessive bleeding during the postpartum period, working too early, being overtired, or catching a cold can also cause low back pain. This is a normal phenomenon. During pregnancy, the growth of the fetus will cause compression and increased pressure on the pregnant woman's body, which will cause back pain and leg pain.
