Is hysteroscopic curettage equivalent to abortion?

People have a better understanding of abortion, and now with the technology of hysteroscopic curettage, many people think that hysteroscopic curettage is equivalent to abortion, but in fact they are different. Abortion can be divided into medical abortion and artificial abortion. Medical abortion is achieved by taking medicine, and artificial abortion is a gynecological surgery. Hysteroscopic curettage is similar to artificial abortion, but it is more effective than traditional artificial abortion and can be performed under a microscope.

Curettage is generally called diagnostic curettage. Hysteroscopic curettage is just a diagnostic curettage, which is not much different from the method of abortion. Hysteroscopic curettage is just a surgical method, a way, and you can rest for 2 weeks. After hysteroscopic curettage, you need to get a good rest, adjust your body, avoid contact with cold and spicy food, avoid strenuous labor, and refrain from sexual intercourse for one month.

The traditional uterine cleaning operation is commonly known as "curettage", so curettage has almost become synonymous with artificial abortion. This is indeed the case. Curettage is the most commonly used method for early abortion. Although curettage does not require surgery, it is also a gynecological surgery. The operation is divided into two steps. The first step is to dilate the cervix to a sufficient size, and the second step is to use a curette to extend into the uterine cavity and scrape out the embryo. The longer the pregnancy lasts, the larger the fetus will be. At this time, the cervix needs to be dilated to the maximum limit to scrape out the fetus, so scraping the uterus becomes more difficult. At the same time, the longer the pregnancy lasts, the softer the uterus will become, and the chance of piercing the uterus during surgery will naturally increase.

Therefore, generally speaking, curettage can only be used to scrape out the fetus within three months of pregnancy, and it is not advisable to use curettage after three months.

As for hysteroscopy, as I said before, the main thing is that it is performed under hysteroscopy. The operator can clearly see the structure inside the uterus and avoid blind curettage, thereby reducing pain, shortening time, reducing uterine damage, reducing bleeding and other complications, and can perform operations such as airbag compression to stop bleeding. Traditional surgery usually has to wait a few weeks before it can be performed, but hysteroscopy can handle patients with early pregnancy.
