What does cervical pain feel like?

Many female friends often feel cervical pain in their daily lives, but they can't find any cause of the disease. In this case, they will become very anxious, and they will feel that their pain is getting more and more severe. At this time, they need to go for a gynecological examination. In fact, there are many reasons for cervical pain, which is mainly related to their previous abortion.

1. Due to excessive negative pressure or repeated negative pressure in and out of the cervical opening and rough surgical operation, the cervical mucosa is thin, which can easily cause deep damage and adhesion.

2. The interval between the last artificial abortion is short, and the cervical mucosa has not been completely repaired and is damaged again, resulting in adhesion.

3. Frequent artificial abortions will stimulate the cervix multiple times, causing the connective tissue to proliferate, become hard, reduce elasticity, and tighten the cervical opening, thereby aggravating cervical damage and adhesion.

4. The operator has a weak concept of sterility or has sexual intercourse too early after abortion, especially nulliparous women or unmarried pregnant women, who fail to take birth control measures in time. Lack of hygiene knowledge increases the chance of infection and leads to cervical adhesions.

5. Performing artificial abortion when acute/chronic genital tract inflammation is not cured, especially for those suffering from various vaginitis and severe cervical erosion, will aggravate or further spread the inflammation and cause cervical adhesion.

The characteristics of this disease are amenorrhea or oligomenorrhea after artificial abortion, accompanied by periodic spasmodic pain in the lower abdomen and a feeling of anal prolapse. The pain usually lasts for 4 to 7 days, then gradually subsides or disappears, and the periodic abdominal pain progressively worsens. The cervix is painful when raised, and the uterus may be slightly enlarged and tender. In severe cases, there is cervical pain and fullness in the posterior fornix, and dark red, non-coagulated blood can be drawn out. This disease is easily misdiagnosed as ectopic pregnancy or other acute abdominal diseases.

Cervical tenderness is one of the typical signs of ectopic pregnancy, which means that the cervix is tender. Cervical motion tenderness refers specifically to the pain that occurs when the cervix is lifted with the index and middle fingers of the right hand during bimanual examination. It may be related to the following factors: abnormal position of the uterus, congenital cervical atresia, cervical fibroids, cervical inflammation, and ectopic pregnancy. [1]

Inspection method: In general, the simplest probe inspection method is used to make a timely diagnosis, if the diagnosis cannot be confirmed. The diagnosis can be made in conjunction with auxiliary examinations such as urine pregnancy test, B-ultrasound, and blood HCG.
