I feel a little pain in my stomach when I am pregnant

Many women experience abdominal pain when they first become pregnant. When this happens, they often think it is a precursor to menstruation. Abdominal pain when you are just pregnant is a relatively normal phenomenon. This is because the fertilized egg grows rapidly after pregnancy, causing the uterus to become larger, which will cause the pregnant woman to feel abdominal pain. When the fetus grows steadily, this phenomenon will naturally disappear.

I feel a little pain in my stomach when I am pregnant

Abdominal pain is a normal physiological reaction in early pregnancy. Because the uterus enlarges and stimulates the bones, pregnant women will feel a dull pulling pain in the abdomen. But it is worth noting that if the abdominal pain persists and is accompanied by bleeding symptoms, you should be admitted to the hospital for examination immediately. This pathological abdominal pain may indicate signs of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, when abdominal pain occurs in early pregnancy, we must learn to distinguish whether it is physiological abdominal pain or pathological abdominal pain.

Specific causes of abdominal pain in early pregnancy

1. Uterine enlargement stimulates bones

After you become pregnant, you will feel your belly getting bigger day by day, and then your skin will feel tight. If you love sports, you may feel a dull pulling pain in your abdomen after hiking or playing table tennis, which is similar to normal stomach pain. For some expectant mothers, the enlarged uterus constantly stimulates the lower edge of the ribs, which may cause dull rib pain or pain due to the relaxation and separation of the pubic symphysis, and even lead to limited movement. However, these conditions are normal physiological reactions after pregnancy and do not require special treatment. The pain can be relieved by sleeping in the left side position. Expectant mothers don’t need to worry, the symptoms can be relieved by resting in bed more.

2. Pathological causes such as ectopic pregnancy and uterine adnexal disease

In the early stages of pregnancy, abdominal pain is more obvious and unbearable. Pregnant mothers should undergo a blood hCG test to rule out threatened abortion or ectopic pregnancy, or undergo a further comprehensive physical examination to rule out other uterine adnexal diseases.

What are the symptoms of pregnancy?

1. Menstruation does not come during the due date

Healthy women's menstruation usually comes on a monthly basis. If it does not come after the due date, the first thing to think of is the possibility of pregnancy. Generally speaking, if the period has passed for a week, the doctor can roughly detect the signs of pregnancy. If it is one month past due, pregnancy is easier to confirm. Some women, even though they are pregnant, still have their period once or twice when they should, but the amount of blood is less than usual and the duration is shorter. If you have regular periods and are sexually active, you can still get pregnant even if you take birth control pills or use other forms of birth control.

2. Changes in appetite

Some women begin to experience changes in appetite shortly after their menstrual period (1-2 weeks). The things I used to like to eat, I no longer like to eat now. I won’t like the food I’ve eaten once the second time. Some people simply don’t want to eat or even feel like vomiting, and some people crave something sour. Generally, these symptoms will disappear naturally after half a month to a month.

3. Breast changes

In early pregnancy, your breasts will increase in size and become firmer and heavier. There will be a feeling of fullness and tingling in the breasts. The small particles on the dark yellow areola around the nipple are particularly prominent.

4. Frequent urination

In the early stages of pregnancy, many women experience frequent urination, some as often as once an hour. This is a natural phenomenon and does not require treatment.
