What does a breast lump look like?

The human chest, whether male or female, is often at risk of disease problems. For example, most people would think that mastitis is a disease that only occurs in women. In fact, it also happens to some men, but the probability is relatively small. Some people may also have the problem of having lumps in their breasts as this is a common disease. So what does a breast lump look like?

Breast lumps are a common sign of breast disease. Women's breasts are naturally uneven, and the lumps that many women find themselves are just areas of normal breast protrusions. These lumps become more obvious and easier to touch before menstruation. The vast majority of breast lumps found clinically are benign lesions, such as breast adenosis, breast fibroadenoma, breast cysts, intraductal papilloma, breast duct ectasia and breast tuberculosis. So, what are the symptoms of breast lumps and swellings?

Steps/Methods:

1. Breast adenosis is also known as breast hyperplasia. Judging from the characteristics of the lumps, breast adenosis often causes multiple nodules of varying sizes and unclear boundaries to be found simultaneously or successively in both breasts, which can be pushed. Breast fibroadenomas are mostly single tumors with clear boundaries, neat edges, smooth surfaces, and are movable.

2. Breast cysts are large lobules formed when breast tissue ages. The lumps are smooth and movable. Intraductal papilloma is often felt as a round, soft mass under the areola or at the edge of the areola, with a diameter generally ranging from 0.3 to 1 cm, and most cases are accompanied by nipple discharge.

3. Mammary duct ectasia, also known as mammary duct ectasia, often has a lump as the first symptom. The lump has irregular edges and an uneven surface. It is often located deep in the areola and is usually less than three centimeters in size. Breast tuberculosis usually presents as isolated nodules at first, which gradually form into an exponentially large mass with unclear boundaries and easy adhesion to the skin.

Note:

It is relatively easy to diagnose a lump felt in the breast, combined with breast X-ray and breast color ultrasound, and, if necessary, a puncture or surgical biopsy for cytological or histological diagnosis. Some breast cancers in which no lump can be felt have nipple discharge as the first symptom, which can be diagnosed with the help of an overnight cytology smear or, for example, a endoscopic examination.
