Reasons for delayed delivery

Reasons for delayed delivery

When women are approaching their due date, they all hope to give birth early. However, sometimes we find that some women give birth much earlier, while some women give birth much later. Especially for women who have not given birth after the due date, it is easy to have wild thoughts and worry that there is something wrong with the baby. In fact, there are many women who give birth after the due date. What is the reason for delayed delivery?

What are the reasons for delaying childbirth?

1. The fetal head has not entered the pelvis. If the fetus is large and the fetal head has not entered the pelvis in time, the stimulation to the cervix is insufficient and the labor process will be prolonged. When the fetus is developing abnormally, the baby is anencephaly or has excessive amniotic fluid, the uterus cannot be effectively stimulated, causing regular uterine contractions, and thus delivery is delayed.

2. In the late pregnancy, there is less activity and more nutritional intake. The low level of activity and excessive nutrient intake of expectant mothers in the late stages of pregnancy are one of the causes of post-term pregnancy. The due date is not the standard delivery date, and it is very common not to give birth by the due date. Giving birth 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after the due date is considered an appropriate delivery and is normal. Pregnant mothers do not need to worry and can just wait a few days to see.

What to do if the due date has passed and the baby hasn't been born yet

1. If there is no sign of birth after the due date, the expectant mother should increase her exercise. Walking is the most suitable form of exercise during the late pregnancy. Walking can allow you to breathe fresh air. In the late stages of pregnancy, walking can help the fetus descend into the pelvis, relax the pelvic ligaments, and prepare for delivery. When taking a walk, you should talk to your child while walking and listen to the singing of birds and the chirping of crickets with him.

2. Prenatal gymnastics is very popular abroad. Gymnastics can not only help the fetal head enter the pelvis, but also increase the toughness and elasticity of the pelvic floor muscles. It is common to hear doctors ask expectant mothers who have passed their due date and are still not pregnant to climb stairs. Climbing stairs can exercise the thigh and buttocks muscles, which can help the fetus enter the pelvis and make the first stage of labor come as soon as possible.

It is normal for a pregnant woman not to have given birth even if the due date has passed. After all, the due date is only an approximate time, and the fertilization time of each person is different, so the time of fertilization will also vary. If you want to give birth to the baby earlier, you can do some midwifery exercises before delivery, such as climbing stairs.
