When a woman is pregnant, she is very fragile and needs to be careful about everything, especially her diet. There are many kinds of medicines, and some Chinese herbal ingredients will have an impact on the body of pregnant women. How should pregnant women choose? So which medicinal materials should pregnant women not eat?

Many people believe that drinking more soup after pregnancy is nutritious, but drinking soup every day is actually unnecessary, and it is not suitable to eat too nourishing soup. Those with ginseng and red ginseng can easily cause blood circulation, which may cause some adverse effects. It is recommended to drink some light soup, such as pork ribs soup, fish soup, lean meat soup, etc. Try to use less oil when drinking soup.

In the early stages of pregnancy, pregnant women should eat coix seeds according to their physical condition. Some medical documents record the adverse effects that coix seed may have on pregnant women: "Practical Chinese Medicine" lists coix seed as something that can harm the fetus; "Compendium of Materia Medica" lists it as "forbidden for pregnant women"; "Treatise on Seasonal Diseases" records that "Sophora japonica flowers for clear soup, ginger and cinnamon for removing cold, rice kernels for removing dampness... are all foods that can harm the fetus and are most easily taken by mistake. Doctors must respect them all". Although there have been no reported cases of miscarriage caused by pregnant women eating coix seed, to be on the safe side, it is best for pregnant women to consult a doctor and eat coix seed in moderation.

Pregnant women in their first trimester should be cautious when eating purslane. Generally speaking, Purslane is a plant used as medicine. It is both a herb and an edible vegetable. Its medicinal properties are cold and slippery. Experiments have shown that purslane juice has a significant stimulating effect on the uterus, and can increase the frequency and intensity of uterine contractions. Therefore, in order to avoid accidents, pregnant women are better off eating less or no purslane.

Chinese patent medicines are not 100% safe for pregnant women. When taking Chinese patent medicines, you must read the instructions carefully. If it says that pregnant women are prohibited from using the medicines or should use them with caution, it is best to use the medicines under the guidance of a doctor rather than taking them on your own.
