Sticky leucorrhea after childbirth

Sticky leucorrhea after childbirth

Leucorrhea is a normal secretion of women, and it is also very prone to problems. The most important thing is the color and smell of the leucorrhea. If it increases or decreases occasionally, it is normal. However, some women always have sticky leucorrhea after childbirth and are very concerned about the reasons. So, what is the reason for the sticky leucorrhea after childbirth? Let’s take a look below.

Thick leucorrhea after childbirth is abnormal. Abnormal leucorrhea is generally caused by filterable viral infection of the cervix, vagina and vulva.

1. Vaginal Trichomonas infection: This infection can easily cause an increase in leucorrhea, accompanied by a foul odor, and itching of the genitals.

2. Pathogen infection: Using contaminated sanitary products allows pathogens to enter the reproductive tract through the vaginal opening, causing infection and increased leucorrhea.

3. Cervical erosion: Childbirth injuries, changes in sex hormones, or cervical inflammation caused by sexual intercourse may lead to cervical erosion and increase in leucorrhea.

Why is the vaginal discharge yellow and smelly after childbirth?

Yellow leucorrhea after childbirth is a manifestation of abnormal leucorrhea, and most of the time it may be caused by vaginitis, such as candidal vaginitis or Trichomonas vaginitis. The leucorrhea is milky white or light yellow, purulent, has a foul smell, and is often accompanied by abdominal pain. This condition is generally caused by chronic cervicitis or endocervicitis.

The leucorrhea is yellow or yellow-green, thin and foamy, and some are very similar to rice water and have a bad odor. Most of the time, it is caused by vaginal trichomoniasis. Most have a thick texture, but sometimes are thin, typically milky white, or in the form of curd-like white flakes or lumps, and are mostly caused by fungal infection.
