Endometrial excursion

Endometrial excursion

The shedding of the endometrium in women results in regular menstruation, which is also a special physiological period for women. However, if endometrial displacement occurs, serious problems will arise. There are many situations of endometrial migration, such as the situation caused by retrograde menstruation, which is more common; in addition, if gynecological inflammation occurs, the inflammation will stimulate the endometrium and cause it to migrate.

1. Retrograde menstrual blood implantation leads to endometrial displacement. This situation is the most common in clinical practice. Under normal circumstances during the menstrual period, menstrual blood will flow down the human body from the cervix and vagina and then be discharged from the body. However, a small amount of menstrual blood may retrograde through the fallopian tube into the abdominal cavity and implant on the surface of the pelvic organs, thus forming a displaced endometrium.

2. Metaplastic factors cause this disease. When still in the embryonic period, the ovarian, peritoneal and rectal tissues are all produced by the metaplasia of the coelomic epithelium. If there is an abnormality in this process, such as inflammatory stimulation, hormonal stimulation, chemical stimulation or physical stimulation, it may lead to abnormal metaplasia of the coelomic epithelium, thereby forming another tissue, such as the endometrium.

3. Caused by benign metastasis. Part of the endometrial debris can be transferred to other parts of the body through the human body's blood circulation and lymphatic circulation, and stay and implant in these parts, thereby causing endometrial displacement, such as in the meninges, peritoneum, neoplasm, etc.

4. Iatrogenic endometrial displacement. Cesarean section or curettage may cause some endometrial debris to be implanted in places where they should not be due to improper operation, thus causing endometrial displacement.

The above is an introduction to the causes of endometrial dislocation. I hope that after reading these introductions, friends will have a better understanding of some of the causes of this disease. Endometrial translocation is a relatively common gynecological disease, but it is far from as simple as people imagine. Some patients cannot find the specific cause of the disease, but this does not prevent them from receiving treatment in the hospital.
