Uterine repositioning technique

Uterine repositioning technique

I believe that many people do not understand the technique of uterine repositioning, because the uterus will be displaced after childbirth. Uterine displacement can cause metritis or other gynecological diseases, and will even affect the next conception. Therefore, we should know the adjustment techniques of uterine repositioning to promote uterine repositioning. Regarding the technique of uterine repositioning, we recommend that you understand the techniques described below and massage the uterus correctly.

Postpartum uterine massage techniques

1. Urinate in time. After delivery, doctors often tell mothers to urinate as soon as possible, generally within 4 hours after delivery. Because during delivery, the bladder is compressed, the mucosa is congested, muscle tension is reduced, and the perineal wound is painful. Reasons such as not being used to urinating in bed can easily lead to urinary retention, which can cause bladder enlargement, hinder uterine contraction and cause postpartum hemorrhage or cystitis.

2. Don’t stay in bed during the postpartum period. The elderly always insist on staying in bed after giving birth to prevent you from catching a cold. However, 6 to 8 hours after delivery, it is best for the mother not to stay in bed after fatigue has disappeared. Try to get out of bed and move around the next day. This is beneficial to the recovery of physiological functions and physical strength, and helps the uterus recover and the discharge of lochia.

3. Postpartum massage of the uterus requires professional personnel to perform the massage. The technique must be performed on the lower abdomen, and it must be very forceful. Postpartum mothers must do this.

Is the discharge after childbirth menstruation?

Postpartum lochia is not menstruation. Normally, after giving birth, a woman will have a bloody discharge from the birth canal, similar to menstruation. This bleeding from the placenta implantation site, mixed with the decidua remaining in the uterus, tissue fragments, mucus and other secretions, is called lochia.

Under normal circumstances, the lochia is abundant and red in the first 4 to 5 days. One week after delivery, the amount of lochia gradually decreases and turns brown. After the 10th day, the color becomes lighter, slowly turning from yellow to white, and there is no special smell. Lochia usually disappears 46 weeks after delivery.

The techniques for postpartum uterine massage have been answered above. The uterus increases in size during pregnancy and decreases in size after delivery. Then the lochia and other useless waste will be eliminated. The uterus of most women who have just given birth will contract normally. If you can feel a lump in your belly when you touch it with your hand, it means that the uterus is not contracting normally, and you need to take some external measures to help the uterus recover. Postpartum massage is very necessary for the recovery of the uterus.
