How to thicken the endometrium

How to thicken the endometrium

The endometrium originally has its own thickness and is within the correct range. The width and thickness of the endometrium determine the maturation and development of the follicles. Under the secretion of ovarian hormones, the endometrium is strengthened and may show signs of thickening. However, many people have a thin endometrium, which is beyond the normal physiological range of the body. This can be regulated by thickening the endometrium.

Excessive growth of the endometrium is a sign of cancer. A pathological examination can clarify the nature of the endometrial growth and take targeted treatment in a timely manner. As the ovaries undergo cyclical changes, other parts of the reproductive organs also undergo corresponding cyclical changes. Among them, the changes in the endometrium are the most significant, including the stages of endometrial proliferation, secretion, shedding and repair.

(1) Normal thickening of the endometrium During the ovarian cycle, when follicles develop and mature in the ovaries, under the action of estrogen secreted by the ovaries, the blood supply to the endometrium is enhanced, and a gradual thickening phenomenon, namely the proliferative endometrium, occurs. The thickening of the endometrium provides good conditions for the implantation of the fertilized egg and the growth and development of the embryo. After ovulation, under the action of progesterone and estrogen secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovary, the thickened endometrium begins to secrete, namely the secretory endometrium. Proliferative phase: around the menstrual cycle

Starting from the 5th day and lasting for 7 to 10 days, the estrogen level in the blood gradually increases. The endometrium begins to repair, the endometrium gradually thickens, and blood vessels and uterine glands also grow accordingly, but the endometrium is still very thin at this time; Secretory phase: starts approximately on the 15th day after menstruation and lasts about 14 days. At this time, the follicle in the ovary has ovulated, and a corpus luteum is formed after ovulation. The progesterone secreted causes the already thickened endometrium to continue to thicken, the gland to further enlarge and bend, and to secrete mucus. At this time, the endometrium becomes thick and soft, storing necessary secretions, ready to allow the fertilized egg to implant at any time.

(ii) Abnormal thickening of the endometrium: Ovarian hormone disorder can easily lead to abnormal thickening of the endometrium, namely endometrial hyperplasia, which is caused by a large amount of estrogen stimulating the endometrium. The clinical manifestations are irregular and heavy abnormal uterine bleeding. Patients may experience continuous bleeding after a long period of amenorrhea, which may be suspected of miscarriage clinically. It may also manifest as shortened cycles and prolonged menstruation, with bleeding time lasting up to 1 month. Pathological examination showed that the degree of endometrial proliferation was not completely consistent with the severity of bleeding. It manifests as thickening of the endometrium, with thickness ranging from 3 to 12 mm, and in some cases even reaching 20 mm. The endometrium is grayish white or light yellow, with a flat surface or polyp-like protrusions, which may be accompanied by edema. Cystic spaces formed by dilated glands can sometimes be seen on the cross-section.
