What medicine should be used for bacterial vaginitis

What medicine should be used for bacterial vaginitis

If a female friend encounters a gynecological disease such as bacterial vaginosis, the first thing she should do is to avoid sexual intercourse and seek medical treatment in a timely manner. During treatment, no one may know what medicine to choose. I hope female friends can choose according to the doctor's advice. Generally, you can insert metronidazole or use vinegar to clean the bacteria in the vagina, and you must use medication to treat it.

Bacterial vaginitis can be divided into Haemophilus vaginitis, Corynebacterium vaginitis, Hypoxic bacterial vaginitis, Gardnerella vaginitis, etc. This disease is caused by a mixed infection of vaginal Gardnerella and some hypoxic bacteria, which can be transmitted through sexual contact, and the incidence rate is higher among people with promiscuous sexual relationships. In clinical practice, a large number of pus balls can be found through secretion smear examination, and pathogenic bacteria can be found, but there will be no trichomonas and fungi in the secretions.

Guidance:

1. Oral medication therapy

a. Metronidazole: Currently, it is generally believed to have reliable efficacy. The dosage is 0.2-0.4 g orally each time, 2-3 times a day. If the dose is large or to avoid gastrointestinal reactions, vitamin B6 can be added. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.

b. Methicillin (clomiphene): 2 tablets each time, 2 times a day, for 3 days.

c. Thiamphenicol (Hydroxythiamine): It is effective against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and has a good effect on the growth of anaerobic bacteria, so it can also be used. The usage is 10 tablets each time, or 1 to 2 tablets each time, 3 times a day, for 3 days.

In addition, chloramphenicol and ampicillin can be used. However, it is not recommended to use broad-spectrum antibiotics in large quantities for a long time to avoid causing imbalance of normal vaginal flora. Some people also advocate that asymptomatic patients do not need to be treated.

2. Local therapy

You can use vinegar and acidic solution to wash the vagina regularly, which can improve symptoms and help control the disease. You can also put metronidazole suppository in the vagina, one every night for one week.

3. Treatment of comorbidities

If other pathogens are detected, medications should be used for other pathogens, but the abuse of antibiotics should be avoided. When selecting medications for reproductive tract or other systems, attention should be paid to the systemic condition. Support and immunity-enhancing therapies can be used at the same time, and attention should be paid to adverse drug reactions.

4. Treatment of sexual partners

Some advocate that male sexual partners should take a course of medication at the same time, but some report that this treatment does not prevent relapses in female patients.
