Many malnourished women also suffer from insufficient water supply, which prevents their babies from developing well. So what nutritional supplements should breastfeeding women take to supplement their nutrition?

Nutrition during breastfeeding is very important for both mothers and babies. Therefore, if you are also a breastfeeding mother, in order to allow your child to absorb more nutritious breast milk, you must eat a reasonable diet and pay more attention to nutritional intake, so that your baby can have a healthier body. Here are some nutritional supplements for breastfeeding.

1. Eggs: Eggs are high in protein, amino acids and minerals, and have a high digestion and absorption rate. It also contains lecithin, yolk, and a variety of vitamins and minerals. The fat it contains is easily absorbed, which helps postpartum women restore their strength and maintain the normal function of the nervous system. Traditionally, women should eat at least ten or eight eggs a day during the confinement period. In fact, three eggs are enough to meet the nutritional needs. If you eat too much, the body will not be able to absorb it. Eggs can be eaten in various ways, including boiled eggs, egg drop soup, steamed egg custard, or beaten into noodle soup.

2. Brown sugar: Brown sugar is high in iron and is suitable for postpartum women to replenish blood. Brown sugar contains a variety of trace elements and minerals, which can act as a diuretic, prevent and treat postpartum urinary incontinence, and promote the discharge of lochia. Generally, it should not be consumed for more than 10 days. Drinking it for too long will increase bloody lochia, and in summer it will make the mother sweat more and have less salt in the body. But please note that brown sugar is crude sugar and contains more impurities, so it should be boiled before consumption.

3. Red dates and red beans: Red envelope foods, rich in iron, calcium, etc., are beneficial to the increase of hemoglobin, helping postpartum women to replenish blood and dispel cold.

4. Millet porridge: Millet porridge is rich in vitamin B, dietary fiber and iron. Help mothers recover their physical strength, stimulate intestinal peristalsis and increase appetite. Millet can be cooked alone or together with rice, and it has a good nourishing effect. However, millet porridge should not be too thin, and millet should not be the only staple food after delivery, so as to avoid lack of other nutrients.

5. Stew: Stew is rich in nutrients, containing protein, vitamins, and minerals. It is easy to digest and absorb, promotes appetite and milk secretion, and helps the mother's body recover. Postpartum women tend to sweat and secrete milk, so their water requirements are higher than those of ordinary people. Therefore, drinking a lot of soup is very beneficial. Chicken soup, pork rib soup, beef soup, pig's trotter soup, and elbow soup can be drunk in rotation.

6. Soft-shelled turtle: Soft-shelled turtle is also called round fish or turtle. Soft-shelled turtle is rich in nutrients such as glue, keratin, copper, vitamin D, etc., which can enhance the body's disease resistance and regulate the body's endocrine function. Eating a moderate amount of soft-shelled turtle is beneficial to the recovery of the mother's body and improves the quality of breast milk. However, pregnant women and those suffering from postpartum constipation should not eat it or eat it in moderation.

7. Sesame: Sesame is rich in nutrients such as protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin E, etc., which can enhance and improve the nutritional quality of diet. Nourishes the body and is very suitable for the nutritional requirements of postpartum women. Black sesame is better than white sesame.

8. Chinese Yam: According to the records of divination, eating more Chinese Yam can improve hearing and eyesight, prevent hunger and prolong life, which is very beneficial to human health. It is also said that Chinese Yam can regulate physiology, strengthen the weak constitution after illness, recuperate women after childbirth, and strengthen children's body. Therefore, it is called "food medicine". The mucus protein contained in yam can prevent fat deposition in the cardiovascular system, maintain blood vessel elasticity, prevent arteriosclerosis, reduce subcutaneous fat deposition, and avoid obesity. The dopamine contained in yam has the function of dilating blood vessels and improving blood circulation. Yam can also improve the body's digestive function. If you have indigestion, you can cook yam, lotus seeds, and bitter orange with a little sugar and eat them.
