About diseases with abnormal leucorrhea

Most women will actively seek treatment for abnormal leucorrhea, because if it is not treated, it is very easy to cause vaginitis. Moreover, women's gynecological diseases will not only affect women's physical health, but also affect women's sexual life. Abnormal leucorrhea is generally manifested in large amount of leucorrhea, abnormal color of leucorrhea and leucorrhea with odor. So what are the diseases related to abnormal leucorrhea?

What is abnormal vaginal discharge

Leucorrhea is a white fluid that flows out of a woman's vagina. Leucorrhea is divided into physiological leucorrhea and pathological leucorrhea. Pathological leucorrhea is mostly caused by inflammation. Common pathological leucorrhea in clinical practice include: colorless, transparent, sticky leucorrhea; white or grayish yellow foamy leucorrhea; curd-like leucorrhea; watery leucorrhea, etc. The formation of leucorrhea is closely related to estrogen. When the secretion of estrogen reaches its peak, the leucorrhea will be abundant and transparent. It will be sticky like egg white and can be pulled into threads.

Causes of abnormal vaginal discharge

The most common is inflammatory leucorrhea. This type of leucorrhea contains a large number of white blood cells and is purulent, but due to different infectious pathogens, the characteristics of leucorrhea also have their own characteristics:

1. When the leucorrhea is yellow or yellow-green thin pus and is bubbly with a fishy smell, it is mostly caused by Trichomonas infection;

2. Although the leucorrhea is not too much, if it is white, thick, paste-like, curd-like, or tofu-like, it is mostly caused by fungal infection;

3. The leucorrhea of chronic cervicitis and cervical erosion is mucopurulent;

4. In patients with gonorrhea infection, yellow, sticky, purulent mucus may appear in the cervix, which must be carefully examined and identified.

Non-inflammatory leucorrhea is common in retroverted uterus, pelvic tumors, tuberculosis, diabetes, anemia, etc., as well as in weak women. They often have more egg white-like cervical secretions and white watery vaginal exudate. Makes people feel uncomfortable. Other causes include leucorrhea caused by foreign body irritation and leucorrhea caused by cancer, which should also attract attention. When there is an increase in vaginal discharge, discomfort or itching and pain in the vulva, an examination is necessary.

What is abnormal leucorrhea?

The composition of normal leucorrhea is a mixture of vaginal mucosal exudates, cervical secretions and some endometrial secretions, and it has no odor. This is related to the estrogen level in the body and the degree of genital congestion. In addition to physiological reasons or physical deterioration that can easily lead to increased vaginal discharge, it can also be caused by infectious diseases, at which time abnormal vaginal discharge will occur. If there is something abnormal with the leucorrhea, such as an increase in volume, or a change in shape, odor, or color compared to usual, you should consider that it may be pathological leucorrhea. Active examination and treatment should be carried out to avoid affecting fertility. Therefore, leucorrhea examination is a very important routine infertility examination and a measure to examine gynecological diseases.
