What causes female breast atrophy?

What causes female breast atrophy?

Every woman wants her breasts to be fuller and more upright. Full breasts can bring confidence and beauty. However, with age or breast disease, women's breasts will begin to shrink slowly and no longer be as upright as before. In fact, there are many reasons for breast shrinkage in women. If breast shrinkage is caused by disease, it must be treated in time.

What causes female breast atrophy?

Abnormal estrogen secretion

A girl's breasts are able to develop and mature because there are a large number of estrogen receptors distributed on the breasts. During puberty, the breasts develop, grow, and eventually take shape under the stimulation of estrogen. However, abnormal estrogen secretion will affect breast development and even cause hyperplasia or atrophy.

Ovarian disease

The ovaries are the main organs for female hormone secretion. When ovarian diseases occur, estrogen secretion is affected, not only will the breasts shrink, but irregular menstruation will also occur.

Decrease in estrogen after menopause

When the estrogen level in a woman's body drops to a certain level, menopausal syndrome will occur. After menopause, the estrogen level in the body will continue to decline. The breasts lack the stimulation of estrogen, are no longer firm, and may even shrink.

Excessive weight loss

There are no bones or muscles in the breasts, and they are mainly composed of fat, ligaments, mammary glands and skin. However, if you lose weight excessively, the breasts will lose most of the fat support. At the same time, the skin's elasticity decreases due to weight loss, causing the breasts to shrink and sag. This is also the harm caused by losing weight too quickly.

Wrong massage

Do you think massage can enlarge your breasts? Little do you know that if you massage incorrectly, it can be harmful to your breasts. For example, excessive force can damage the mammary glands and cause mastitis.

Effects of breastfeeding

In fact, breastfeeding will not cause breast sagging or atrophy, but incorrect breastfeeding methods may not necessarily cause this. If you are too tired during breastfeeding, eat insufficient nutrition, or have severe breast engorgement, etc., it will lead to excessive consumption of breast fat and loose breast skin, which will cause breast atrophy and sagging after breastfeeding ends. At the same time, if the breastfeeding period is too long, the breasts may lack sex hormone stimulation and may also atrophy.

In addition, with the pace of aging, breasts will sag and shrink; smoking, multiple pregnancies, sleeping on your stomach, not wearing a sports bra, etc., these will also affect the appearance of the breasts.

How to take care of your breasts

1. Wear a bra regularly. Although metal bras affect the blood circulation of the chest, not wearing them means that the breasts are more likely to sag. As long as the bra is of the right size and is not worn at night, it can still protect the breasts.

2. Don’t diet. There are so many ways to lose weight, but dieting is harmful to the breasts. Even if you lose weight successfully, your breasts will become flat.

3. Breastfeed correctly. During lactation, you can feed alternately from both breasts. If there is too much milk, you can squeeze it out to avoid mastitis.

4. Breast exercises. Exercise chest muscles to make breasts firmer, fuller and prevent sagging.
