Does calcium acetate affect the fetus?

Calcium deficiency during pregnancy will affect the baby's development. Calcium supplementation can be started after four months of pregnancy. You can go to the hospital to have a blood test to check for trace elements. If you have a mild calcium deficiency, you can adjust it through dietary supplements, such as drinking maternity milk powder, pure milk, or fresh milk every day. If you are severely deficient in calcium, you can take calcium acetate and then take dietary supplements.

Pregnant women need to supplement various vitamins, calcium, etc. during pregnancy.

Is calcium acetate capsule good for pregnant women?

Pregnant women can take calcium acetate capsules, and the effect is very good. But it is best to use it under the guidance of a doctor to avoid unnecessary risks.

Calcium acetate capsules are calcium supplements that mainly promote the calcification of bones and teeth, maintain normal excitability of nerves and muscles, and capillary permeability. The daily dosage of calcium acetate capsules should be taken in three doses, with a maximum limit of 300 mg (calculated as elemental calcium). The medication duration should not exceed one month.

Calcium acetate capsules can be used to prevent and treat calcium deficiency diseases such as osteoporosis, tetany, bone dysplasia, rickets, as well as for calcium supplementation in children, pregnant and lactating women, menopausal women, and the elderly. Drinking large amounts of alcohol and caffeinated beverages and smoking heavily will inhibit the absorption of calcium supplements. Eating large amounts of fiber-rich foods can inhibit the absorption of calcium because calcium combines with cellulose to form compounds that are difficult to absorb. When calcium acetate capsules are used together with phenytoin sodium and tetracyclines, the absorption of both is reduced.

Common adverse reactions of calcium acetate capsules include belching, constipation, abdominal discomfort, and high-dose use may cause hypercalcemia, which manifests as anorexia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, arrhythmia, and bone lime deposition. If the situation is serious, it is recommended to stop taking the medicine immediately and go to the hospital for treatment.

It can be seen from this that calcium acetate capsules are good for pregnant women to take, but they must be used strictly in accordance with the drug instructions or doctor's orders to avoid adverse reactions.
