Can I have sex before having my fallopian tubes checked?

Women should try to avoid sex after they have gynecological diseases, especially when they are undergoing examinations. Most examinations are done in the morning, so they should try to have less sex with men the night before, so that the results of the examination will be more accurate. In addition, sometimes excessive sex may cause some secretions to affect the examination results. So, can you have sex before having a fallopian tube examination?

Can I have sex before having my fallopian tubes checked?

You cannot have sex before doing a hysterosalpingography examination. Generally, sex is prohibited within one week before the examination. Because hysterosalpingography needs to be performed in the vagina, prohibiting sexual intercourse helps reduce the chance of co-infection.

In addition to refraining from sexual intercourse before undergoing a hysterosalpingography examination, it should be noted that the patency test should generally be performed about 3-7 days after a woman's menstruation has completely ended. Before undergoing hysterosalpingography, patients must first find out whether there are other inflammations in the reproductive tract, which mainly includes vaginal and cervical examinations. If there is other inflammation, re-examination is needed after a few months of treatment. During the examination period, sexual intercourse and bathing must be avoided.

In addition, it is best to practice contraception for three months after the contrast examination to reduce the possible effects of X-ray exposure. However, clinical observations have found that women who become pregnant in the same month after angiography do not have an increased risk of fetal abnormalities.

Why is there bleeding two days after sex?

1. Damage to the hymen. The most common is the rupture of the hymen during first sexual intercourse. This bleeding usually occurs during sexual intercourse. There may be pain and bleeding at the time, but the amount of bleeding is usually not much. If the injury is not serious, the bleeding will stop soon. However, sometimes when the rupture of the hymen happens to damage the blood vessels in that area, bleeding is more severe and requires pressure to stop the bleeding (such as using clean cotton balls or gauze, clean towels, etc.), or even going to the hospital for treatment.

2. Vaginal laceration. Vaginal bleeding is found during or after sexual intercourse, and the amount of bleeding is heavy, difficult to stop on its own, and lasts for a long time. Vaginal lacerations often occur during involuntary sexual intercourse or extremely rough sexual intercourse. Vaginal laceration is also seen in vaginal deformities, such as vaginal septum, transverse septum, double vagina, and vaginal stenosis. If the vaginal wound does not heal well after undergoing vaginoplasty, hymen repair, vaginal tumor removal surgery, or hysterectomy, sexual intercourse may easily cause damage. Improper sexual posture and position can also lead to vaginal injury and bleeding. The amount of bleeding depends on the location and extent of the injury. There was a woman who, after being raped, suffered severe lacerations from the posterior wall of her vagina to the vaginal vault, with heavy bleeding. She went to the hospital for treatment 6 hours later. When she did, she had already shown signs of hemorrhagic shock, including pale complexion, rapid pulse, and low blood pressure.

After understanding why bleeding occurs two days after intercourse, conservative methods should be chosen to improve bleeding problems. Medication is a good choice and is very helpful in improving such problems. However, it should be noted that different treatment methods should be chosen according to different women's conditions, so women cannot choose the same improvement method.
