What if there are follicles on the right ovary?

The ovaries are very important reproductive organs for women. Women's eggs are discharged from the ovaries. For women, it is very important to have good ovarian function, which is a necessary condition for women to become pregnant normally. However, in life, women's ovaries may have many diseases, such as some inflammations and even serious ovarian cancer. Some women have follicles on their right ovary, which is caused by the following factors.

What if there are follicles on the right ovary?

The ovaries are where eggs are produced and play a vital role in the reproductive process. There are two ovaries, one on the left and one on the right. Many people don't know whether the egg is released from the left or right side. Many people will find follicles in their left ovary when they go to the hospital for check-up. So what does the presence of follicles in the left ovary mean?

What does it mean if there are follicles in the left ovary?

Under normal circumstances, one side of the ovarian follicles will mature every month, and the two ovaries will ovulate alternately. It is normal for the left ovary to have follicles during the ovulation period. However, if there are multiple follicles, the possibility of polycystic ovary syndrome should be considered, and further examination and diagnosis are needed. Therefore, the presence of follicles in the left ovary means that the eggs in the left ovary will mature and be discharged from the body.

Where is the egg released from?

As we all know, under normal circumstances, the fallopian tube is where the egg and sperm meet, and that is where the fertilized egg is formed. After the egg is fertilized, the fertilized egg divides while continuing to move to the uterus and eventually embeds itself in the endometrium. However, there are two fallopian tubes. Does the sperm know whether the egg is on the left or the right? Which way should I go to meet you?

To answer this question, we must first look at how women ovulate. Generally speaking, a woman's ovaries will release an egg about 14 days before her next menstrual period. An egg can survive for about 48 hours after being released, waiting to meet and combine with sperm during these 48 hours. If the egg cannot meet the sperm to form a fertilized egg due to various reasons after being released, it will die naturally after 48 to 72 hours. If you miss the chance of fertilization this time, you will have to wait until another egg matures and is released one month later, and then repeat the same process.

Every month, the ovaries produce many eggs, but not all eggs can mature. Only the dominant follicles can combine with sperm to give birth to a healthy baby. The dominant follicle is generally larger than 20mm, and the smallest one is normal to be larger than 18mm. However, there is no obvious rule as to which ovary the dominant follicle will appear on, so the eggs can be released from both ovaries in turn, or continuously from one ovary.

The presence of follicles in the left ovary indicates that the egg in the left ovary is developing, and this side may release one or more eggs. If a woman finds that she has follicles in her left ovary, then an egg may be released from the left ovary this month. Of course, if there are follicles in the right ovary as well, and if the follicles are better than those on the left, then an egg may also be released from the right ovary.
