Four-dimensional color ultrasound transparent cavity

Four-dimensional color ultrasound transparent cavity

Four-dimensional color ultrasound is a type of color ultrasound examination. In addition to the functions of general B-ultrasound, it can also perform three-dimensional imaging of the fetal head and face, and can clearly show the eyes, nose, mouth, jaw, etc., which can help doctors to promptly diagnose fetal malformations, including surface malformations, internal organ malformations, and head and face malformations, and can determine the exact position of the fetus in the uterus. So what is the transparent cavity in four-dimensional color ultrasound?

What is the transparent cavity in four-dimensional color ultrasound?

Four-dimensional color ultrasound can detect the growth and development of the fetal septum pellucidum. The cavum septum pellucidum refers to the cavity between the lateral ventricles on both sides of the fetus, the potential cavity between the double-layer plastic membrane, also known as the fifth ventricle. The septum pellucidum cavity begins to shrink in the neonatal period. If excessive blood accumulates and bulges, a septum pellucidum cyst will form. The cavum septum pellucidum does not belong to the ventricular system. If the cavum septum pellucidum is found to be enlarged or reduced, there are generally no clinical manifestations. It only shows that the development of the fetus is different. You just need to continue to have regular follow-up visits and adhere to prenatal checkups.

Common Problems with Four-Dimensional Color Doppler Ultrasound

1. You don’t need to hold your urine or be on an empty stomach when doing four-dimensional color ultrasound. Pregnant women only need to go to the hospital for examination within the required time.

2. Before the four-dimensional color ultrasound examination, pregnant women are advised to wear their tops and jeans separately. In the four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound examination, the doctor mainly uses the examination instruments to examine the fetus's current facial development, heart, brain, spine, etc. to see if there are any development defects. If the fetus is found to have deformities during the examination, the examination time may be relatively longer.

3. When doing fetal examination, due to the limitations of ultrasound technology, it is not possible to detect all malformed fetuses, that is, the ultrasound diagnosis accuracy rate cannot reach 100%.

4. Soft tissues such as the inside of the ear, sex organs, sexual organs and jaw arch are not within the scope of color Doppler ultrasound examination of the fetus.

5. The examination of the fetal limbs does not include the number of phalanges and toes, and the examination of the fetal four-chamber heart can only rule out 50%-60% of congenital heart diseases.
