Temperature rises a few days after ovulation

A woman's body temperature will rise during her ovulation period, because her ovaries will release eggs during this period. At this time, the woman's endocrine system will be disturbed, so there will be a temperature difference. This situation usually lasts for about two days, and when women feel their body temperature rise, they do not feel too uncomfortable, so it is a relatively normal phenomenon. So how many days after ovulation does the body temperature rise?

How long does the temperature rise during ovulation last?

1. The menstrual cycle is regular, with each cycle lasting 28-30 days. Ovulation usually occurs about 14 days before the next menstruation. The ovulation period is within 10 days between 5 days before ovulation and 4 days after ovulation, which is also the fertile period.

2. During the menstrual cycle, the basal body temperature before ovulation is often lower. Normally, the body temperature before getting up in the morning (i.e., basal body temperature) is below 37 degrees, approximately 36.4-36.6 degrees. The body temperature drops slightly during ovulation, and rises by an average of about 0.5 degrees after ovulation, and remains at this level until the onset of menstruation, when it begins to drop.

3. The method of measuring basal body temperature is:

Take your temperature with an oral temperature meter every morning after waking up, without getting up, preferably at the same time. Generally speaking, the body temperature is always around 36.5 before ovulation. The body temperature drops slightly during ovulation. After ovulation, the temperature rises to around 37 degrees, with an average increase of about 0.5 degrees, and continues until the next menstruation, and then returns to the original body temperature level.

If you measure your basal body temperature for three consecutive menstrual cycles, you can estimate the ovulation date more accurately.

In addition, measure your body temperature every day and record it on a paper form to observe changes in body temperature at any time.

What are the changes in body temperature during ovulation?

What changes occur in body temperature during ovulation? During ovulation, body temperature changes between high and low phases, and the body temperature rises when ovulation occurs.

When the human body is in a state of complete rest, free from mental and all objective interference, the measured body temperature is called basal body temperature. The most accurate temperature is measured when you wake up at 6-7 in the morning but have not yet gotten up to move around. Basal body temperature can more accurately reflect the ovulatory function of the ovaries and the corresponding endocrine levels.

The follicular phase is before ovulation, during which the ovaries secrete estrogen and the basal body temperature is mostly passively kept below 36.6°C. After ovulation, a corpus luteum is formed in the ovary, which secretes progesterone. Progesterone has a thermogenic effect on the central nervous system, raising the basal body temperature by 0.3-0.5°C. The increase in body temperature continues until 1-2 days before the onset of menstruation and then begins to decline. In this way, the changes in basal body temperature during an ovulatory menstrual cycle present a biphasic curve. When the temperature transitions from low temperature to high temperature, an extremely low temperature will occur. The day when the extremely low temperature occurs is the ovulation day.

Although the ovulation period can affect the changes in women's body temperature, other factors in life can also affect the changes in women's body temperature. Therefore, when distinguishing, you must pay attention to whether there are other factors affecting it and determine whether the changes in body temperature are caused by the ovulation period.
