Is gynecological cervical erosion contagious?

Gynecological diseases are very common problems among women. Bad living habits and inadequate cleaning and hygiene methods can cause gynecological inflammation, and many gynecological inflammations can be cross-infected, which is why there are no hot springs in women's bathrooms. However, cervical erosion in women will not be infected, and its causative factor is not bacteria. This article introduces the details of cervical erosion. Let’s take a look.

1. Is gynecological cervical erosion contagious?

Cervical erosion is not contagious and can be treated conservatively with medication, such as taking anti-cervical inflammation tablets. Mild cases of cervical erosion often have no obvious symptoms, while moderate and especially severe cases of erosion mainly present with increased leucorrhea. Due to different pathogens, scope and degree of inflammation, the amount, shape, color and odor of leucorrhea are also different. It can be milky white mucous, yellow pus or bloody.

2. Main symptoms of cervical erosion

1. Increased leucorrhea: Increased leucorrhea is the main symptom of this disease, which is sometimes bloody or mixed with blood.

2. Vulvar itching and pain: The vulva and vagina may be irritated by increased leucorrhea, which may lead to vulvitis or vaginitis and cause vulvar itching and pain.

3. Pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region: When the inflammation is severe, it may cause pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral region along the uterosacral ligament, accompanied by a feeling of falling.

4. Frequent urination or difficulty urinating: When the inflammation spreads to the bladder trigone or around the bladder, frequent urination or difficulty urinating may occur.

3. Treatment of cervical erosion

1. Drug treatment: Suitable for patients with small erosion area and shallow inflammatory infiltration, apply drugs such as Albotherapy topically.

2. Physical therapy: the most commonly used treatment method in clinical practice. Laser, freezing, microwave, etc. can be used. There will be improvement after one or two times. It has the advantages of low cost, short treatment course and quick effect. It is suitable for patients with larger erosion area and deeper inflammatory infiltration. The disadvantage is that the side effects are large and may cause the nerve sensitivity of the vaginal wall to decrease, affecting the quality of sexual life. In addition, it is easy to relapse after being cured.

3. Surgical treatment: Some patients with chronic cervicitis have symptoms of cervical erosion, as well as cervical hypertrophy, cervical polyps, or deep and extensive erosion involving the cervical canal. Cervical conization may be considered. Because this operation causes heavy bleeding and serious damage, and most chronic cervicitis can be cured through medication and physical therapy, it is rarely used nowadays.
