Brown discharge during pregnancy

Brown discharge during pregnancy

If a blood test confirms pregnancy and brown discharge appears, it is generally considered a symptom of threatened miscarriage. It is generally not considered to be prenatal care before it is confirmed that it is an intrauterine pregnancy. If the pregnancy is not very advanced, the gestational sac cannot be seen in the uterine cavity during color Doppler ultrasound examination. The doubling of hCG gonadotropin can be observed dynamically. If the bleeding is more than enough to basically rule out ectopic pregnancy, you can take tocolytic drugs for treatment, pay attention to rest, and try to avoid activity. As long as the amount of bleeding does not increase, the chances of successful tocolytic success are very low. A color Doppler ultrasound examination is performed around six weeks of pregnancy to confirm intrauterine pregnancy. In addition, severe vaginitis may also cause brown discharge.

It is still not possible to determine whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy or an ectopic pregnancy within one month of pregnancy. If brown discharge occurs, it indicates a small amount of vaginal bleeding, which may be caused by embryo implantation, ectopic pregnancy or threatened abortion. A basic judgment can be made based on the progesterone value and hcg standard value in the blood test. If it is less than 25 and more than 15 μg/ml, it is likely to be a threatened abortion. If the progesterone value is less than 5 μg/ml, it is necessary to be alert to the occurrence of ectopic pregnancy and embryonic arrest. Pay attention to the changes in hcg and the state of hemoglobin concentration.

During pregnancy, due to the increase in estrogen levels in the body, there will be more secretions. Generally speaking, if the white secretion has no odor, it is normal and you only need to take daily cleaning measures. If there is white secretion accompanied by a foul odor and vulva itching, it may be Trichomonas vaginitis. Basic gynecological examinations and secretion tests are needed to confirm the diagnosis. If you have vaginitis, take medication based on the test results. The diet should be light, avoid spicy food, change underwear frequently, wash underwear with hot water, and expose to the sun.

During pregnancy, due to the influence of hormone secretion, it is normal for women to have a slight increase in secretions. If there is a lot of white secretions, which are like leucorrhea and accompanied by itching, you should consider whether you have candidal vaginitis. It is best to go to the hospital for a physical examination to see if you have a history of antibiotic use recently. If not, you can use soda water to clean the vulva and apply vaginal medicine to treat candidal vaginitis. Pregnant women should also check their blood sugar levels. Pregnant women with gestational diabetes are also prone to white vaginal discharge and should undergo glucose tolerance tests and glycosylated hemoglobin concentration tests when necessary.
