Can I sit cross-legged during early pregnancy?

Generally, pregnant women in the early stages of pregnancy will pay close attention to their bodies, because the baby is still in the gestational sac at this time, and the fetus is not very stable at this time. Any accident may easily lead to miscarriage. And for women in the early stages of pregnancy, there are many actions they cannot do, otherwise it will affect the healthy development of the baby. So can pregnant women in the early stages of pregnancy sit cross-legged?

1. Staying up late during pregnancy

If expectant mothers often stay up late during pregnancy, it will not only increase the physical and psychological burden, but also affect the fetus's biological clock, making the fetus overly active and causing fetal neck constriction. At the same time, staying up late during pregnancy will have a certain impact on the development of the fetus, such as the baby being too low in birth weight and growing slowly. Therefore, pregnant mothers must maintain a regular schedule and try to keep their sleep time at 8-9 hours per night to create a good growth environment for the baby.

2. Do vigorous exercise

After pregnancy, if the pregnant mother exercises too vigorously or the range of motion is too large, it will not only easily consume physical energy, but the large-scale exercise will also strain the back muscles, increase the burden on the lumbar spine, and in severe cases it can easily cause miscarriage. At the same time, excessive exercise will increase the chance of the fetus having a neck twist. Therefore, expectant mothers can do gentle and appropriate exercise during pregnancy, such as walking, prenatal yoga, prenatal gymnastics, etc. Of course, not exercising is not an option, because moderate exercise can not only improve discomfort during pregnancy and help with natural childbirth, but also make it easier to regain your figure after delivery.

3. The expectant mother’s sleeping posture is incorrect

In addition, incorrect sleeping posture of pregnant mothers can also cause the umbilical cord of the fetus to wrap around the neck. For pregnant mothers, it is more appropriate to sleep on the left side. On the one hand, the left side lying position can reduce the pressure of the uterus on the pregnant mother's aorta and increase the amount of uterine placental blood; on the other hand, it can improve the degree of right rotation of the uterus and avoid hypoxia and developmental delay in the uterus. Among them, if the umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck during pregnancy, pregnant mothers should insist on sleeping on their left side.

4. Pregnant women often have stomachaches

In order to interact with the fetus, many pregnant mothers like to touch their belly with their hands. Little do people know that when the fetus reaches a certain stage of development, it will move back and forth in the uterus according to the direction of the mother's touch. Stretching your arms and turning around in circles can cause the umbilical cord to get wrapped around your neck if you are not careful. If the fetus has the umbilical cord around the neck, it can easily cause fetal hypoxia. Therefore, pregnant mothers should touch the fetus moderately and avoid touching it frequently.

5. The expectant mother breathes too quickly

If the pregnant mother breathes too quickly, the fetus will suffer from short-term hypoxia or difficulty breathing in the uterus. When encountering hypoxia, the fetus is likely to move around in the amniotic fluid, which may cause entanglement in the umbilical cord. Once the fetus has the umbilical cord around its neck, the pregnant mother should learn to relax herself and take deep breaths appropriately. At the same time, sitting cross-legged for a few minutes every day and breathing in and out regularly can help the fetus better absorb nutrients from the mother, which is beneficial to the growth and development of the fetus.

Pregnant mothers should not do the above things! In addition, if the fetal umbilical cord is around the neck for no more than two weeks, pregnant mothers do not need to worry too much. Always maintain a good mood, which is very beneficial to the growth and development of the fetus!
