How long to feed a baby born by caesarean section

Regardless of whether a woman chooses a caesarean section or a natural birth, she should pay attention to her physical condition and breastfeeding after giving birth. However, if a caesarean section is chosen, the woman's body will be much weaker after giving birth than that of a woman who gives birth naturally. Therefore, women after a caesarean section should rest for a period of time, and it is not suitable to feed the baby milk too early at this time. So how long after a caesarean section can I breastfeed my baby?

There are many ways to increase milk supply. First of all, the mother should be in a good mood, not overworked, and pay attention to rest. At the same time, drink more soups such as pork rib soup, pig's trotter soup, chicken soup, etc. You can also eat "raw milk juice", "Ruquan granules", decoctions or acupuncture can increase milk supply. Be sure to give the baby more and make sure to suck once every 2 hours. This will keep the mammary glands unobstructed and is also beneficial to the secretion of milk.

You can only drink liquid food 6 hours after a caesarean section, and you can't eat anything else until the baby is inflated. So you won't be able to produce milk immediately after the operation. But you must let the baby suck. Every time before feeding the baby with milk powder, you must let the baby suck before letting him drink the milk powder. This is because the baby is familiar with the mother's nipple so that he will not refuse to drink breast milk in the future. In addition, it is also to promote milk production.

After a caesarean section, most babies will start producing milk within three or two days. Some of them already have milk on the same day. Therefore, you should try to breastfeed as early as possible after delivery. The earlier the better. It is best to let the baby feed once within half an hour after delivery.

How often should a newborn be fed?

1. The traditional method of breastfeeding is to feed at regular intervals. Whether the newborn is sleeping or crying, feed him/her at the prescribed time. Although the stomach capacity of a newborn baby is small, its digestive power is very strong. Although the amount eaten each time is not much, it is digested quickly. According to research, newborns can digest 70% of the food in their stomach within 5 minutes and 90% within 10 minutes.

2. When the baby cries or the mother feels her breasts are swollen, she should breastfeed. What should be done is to feed the baby whenever he wants to eat, at irregular times and in irregular quantities. This is called "breastfeeding on demand" in medicine. When the mother feels her breasts are engorged and needs to breastfeed, she can push the baby awake to feed.
