Is it dangerous to have a second baby by vertical caesarean section?

Generally, women choose transverse incision when undergoing caesarean section because it can effectively cut into the uterus and see and remove the baby in the uterus. Many women will consider one issue when undergoing a caesarean section, which is the risks involved in the process. Because some women have different physical conditions, they have to choose vertical incision. So is vertical caesarean section very dangerous?

In the first case, if the first caesarean section was due to reasons that cannot be changed, then all future births will have to be done by caesarean section. For example, if the pelvis is small, the pelvis will not get bigger after the first child is born, so all future births will have to be done by caesarean section, and there is no room for negotiation.

In the second case, if the pregnant woman could have given birth on her own, but had a caesarean section when giving birth to her first child due to some variable reasons, such as the pregnant woman's fear of pain, the risk of fetal suffocation, malposition of the fetus, etc., she may not need a caesarean section when giving birth to her second child, because these reasons for caesarean section will not necessarily be encountered when giving birth to the second child.

Therefore, whether the second child needs a caesarean section depends on whether the risk of uterine rupture of the pregnant woman is high. If the risk of uterine rupture is high, it is recommended to continue with the caesarean section. If the risk of uterine rupture is not too high and the pregnant woman herself is willing to try for a natural birth, she can give birth naturally under close monitoring. However, this situation requires vigilance and the principle to be followed is "informed consent."

In real life, if a pregnant woman has a caesarean section for the first child, the chances of having another caesarean section for the second child will be higher, because there is indeed a risk of uterine rupture. Although the specific risk varies from person to person, it is difficult to accurately predict whether it will happen to a person, because once uterine rupture occurs, the mortality rate is very high. So in this case, many pregnant women will choose caesarean section.
