Is enema necessary for caesarean section?

People who have some experience in natural childbirth should know that many women need to use enema to accelerate the delivery of the fetus from the mother's belly because natural childbirth takes a long time. Enema can effectively promote uterine contractions and accelerate female delivery. But in modern society, more and more women prefer to choose cesarean section as a delivery method, so is it necessary to do an enema before a cesarean section?

Although maternal enema has many benefits, it also has its disadvantages: enema may cause umbilical cord prolapse. For pregnant women whose presenting part of the fetus has not yet engaged and whose fetus is in an abnormal position, enema may also cause premature rupture of membranes. Mothers with heart disease and gestational hypertension cannot have enema, and it is also contraindicated for mothers with rectovaginal fistula.

In addition to the above, what scares us the most is that enema can stimulate uterine contractions and accelerate the progress of labor through reflex action. Especially for multiparous women, they may even go into labor immediately when they defecate in the toilet after enema.

For pregnant mothers, pregnancy and childbirth is not only a physical job, but also a knowledge job. Only when pregnant mothers know more about childbirth can they help themselves give birth to their babies smoothly.

In addition to enema, some expectant mothers also ask about skin preparation, because they feel that skin preparation is embarrassing. After the skin preparation is completed, they will look like a shaved hen.

At present, clinical operation standards require perineum skin preparation during childbirth, whether it is a caesarean section or a vaginal delivery. This is to facilitate disinfection or surgical operations, reduce the chance of infection, and be more beneficial to the health of the mother. When hearing the word "skin preparation", I believe many people don't know what skin preparation is. Skin preparation is actually to facilitate surgery, remove the hair in the corresponding position and clean the surface. During childbirth, women are often embarrassed to shave their pubic hair, which is called perineal skin preparation. After removing the pubic hair, it will be easier for the doctor to disinfect and suture the perineal wound of the expectant mother who is giving birth naturally.
