What are the indications for cesarean section?

Although in modern society more and more women choose cesarean section as the delivery method, because most women are afraid of pulling their vagina during natural delivery, which will cause them to feel very painful, cesarean section allows women to experience no pain during the delivery process. However, not all women can undergo cesarean section, because the specific surgical plan for cesarean section should also be determined based on the woman's physical fitness. So what are the indications for cesarean section?

Caesarean section is not an operation that can be performed at will with no harm. There are also some strict medical regulations on whether to perform a caesarean section.

From the perspective of medical science, there are strict regulations on cesarean section in clinical practice, such as when the mother is over 35 years old and under 150 cm tall, the fetal head is too large and the mother's pelvis is too small or the birth canal is narrow, making it impossible for the mother to give birth naturally, as well as fetal distress due to various reasons.

At the same time, it should be pointed out that the safety of cesarean section is only relative, and it will bring disadvantages to the physical health of pregnant women after delivery; therefore, the choice of cesarean section must be cautious and not arbitrary, whether it is the doctor or the pregnant woman herself and her family.

Indications for cesarean section can be roughly divided into two categories

1. Endangerment of the fetus

1. Decreased blood oxygen content;

2. The fetal heart rate is too low or too high;

3. Uterine abnormalities: small uterus, scarred uterus or uterine malformation;

4. Multiple pregnancy

5. Abnormal cervix: the cervix is too loose; pregnant women have active genital herpes infection;

6. Abnormalities of the placenta and umbilical cord: placenta previa; placental abruption;

7. Developmental abnormalities

8. Giant baby and precious baby

2. Danger to pregnant women

1. Cephalopelvic disproportion (the fetal head is too large to pass through the pelvis);

2. Prolonged labor (such as prolonged second stage of labor)

3. Abnormal fetal position: breech position; transverse position;

4. Older pregnant women (over 40 years old)

5. The pregnant woman is in a critical condition (pregnancy toxemia, preeclampsia, eclampsia, hypertension).
