What to do if a breastfeeding mother has a fever

Getting angry is the most common condition among people nowadays. It can cause many symptoms, such as toothache, mouth ulcers, sore throat, dry mouth and tongue, etc. Getting angry is caused by internal heat. You should drink more boiled water and eat less food that can easily cause internal heat. Breastfeeding mothers have poor body resistance, so they are more likely to get angry. So what should a breastfeeding mother do if she has a fever?

Distinguishing between real fire and false fire

Generally speaking, people's internal heat can be divided into two categories: "real fire" and "false fire". Mothers who have internal heat during breastfeeding can only better treat it if they are prepared to know whether their heat is real fire or false fire. Of course, it is generally believed that men are more likely to suffer from real fire, while women are more likely to suffer from false fire.

In addition, breastfeeding mothers should also understand what specifically causes the anger, such as lung heat, stomach discomfort, or heart fire. Only by accurately determining the specific type of inflammation based on the symptoms can we better prescribe the right medicine.

1. Stomach fire: may be accompanied by dry stool, stomach pain, bad breath and other symptoms;

2. Fire caused by lung heat: there may be coughing with a lot of sputum, yellow sputum and hemoptysis;

3. Liver fire: often accompanied by insomnia, irritability, breast pain and other symptoms;

4. Heart fire: often accompanied by symptoms such as irritability, insomnia, and panic.

Symptomatic treatment

Breastfeeding mothers are particularly prone to excessive internal heat, mostly due to deficiency of both blood and Qi, which leads to yin deficiency and excessive internal heat. If we use food or medicine to treat real heat at this time, I am afraid that the mother's constitution will become even weaker. In this case, you need to understand your actual physical condition, combine it with common symptoms, and use food supplements to reduce heat. For example, you can drink lotus seed soup to remove heart fire, eat pork liver to remove lung fire, drink mung bean porridge to remove stomach fire, eat pork kidneys to eliminate kidney fire, drink pear water to remove liver fire, and so on.

Of course, if there is excessive heat during breastfeeding, some cold foods such as herbal tea and lotus seeds should not be consumed, as they will deplete the mother's yin energy. Therefore, during the lactation period, it is best to eat some foods that are not easy to damage the Yin Qi, such as chrysanthemum tea, mung bean soup, etc.
