Does anesthesia affect menstruation?

Does anesthesia affect menstruation?

In fact, anesthesia can cause great harm to people's bodies and may even affect their menstruation. So you will feel some temporary side effects in a short period of time after the anesthesia, such as nausea and vomiting, or even inability to urinate for a period of time. If this is the case, don't panic too much. Just take a rest and you will feel better. If it gets worse, go to the hospital for examination.

The more common temporary side effects of anesthesia are:

– Nausea and vomiting

– Drowsiness

– Temporary inability to urinate

– Sore throat

- Headache

Other less serious complications include muscle pain, injury to teeth, lips, and tongue caused by dentures, temporary difficulty breathing, difficulty speaking, and nerve damage.

Serious complications such as heart attack, stroke, severe allergic reaction, brain/lung damage, kidney/liver failure, permanent nerve damage, eye injury, larynx damage and pneumonia are rare.

Serious side effects and complications are very rare, however, any surgery or anesthesia carries risks. The risks of anesthesia vary depending on your pre-operative health condition, the severity of the surgery, and the method of anesthesia.

That is, the method of taking Chinese medicine to implement anesthesia. The earliest record of the use of anesthetics can be found in Liezi: Tangwen. In the second century AD, Hua Tuo performed surgery using anesthesia with Ma Fei San taken with wine. In the 18th volume of The Effective Prescriptions of the World Doctors by Wei Yilin of the Yuan Dynasty, it is written: “If a person is injured by a fall, and his bones and flesh are painful and cannot be straightened out, first give him an anesthetic and wait until he no longer feels the pain before you can start the treatment.

If the patient does not feel numb after taking the medicine, you can add five cents of Datura flower, Hua Tuo and Aconitum kusnezoffii, mix a small amount with good wine and take it with the patient. If the patient is drunk, do not add the medicine. "It is necessary to achieve a relatively ideal anesthetic effect while preventing overdose that may lead to poisoning or even life-threatening. Later generations have continued to use it and made some improvements. After 1949, the application of traditional Chinese medicine anesthesia such as Datura and Anemarrhena as anesthesia in clinical practice has made traditional Chinese medicine anesthesia shine again.
