Can you get pregnant if you haven't had your period?

Although menstruation is a physiological phenomenon that occurs in most women, there are still some women whose estrogen secretion is not normal, which affects the normal menstruation. Therefore, many women do not have menstruation. Menstruation is closely related to a woman's fertility, so many women who do not have menstruation wonder if they can get pregnant without menstruation.

If you ovulate, you may get pregnant. You can also get pregnant if you don't have your period, because normal menstruation can only occur after ovulation. Therefore, ovulation comes before menstruation. This is more common during the breastfeeding period. If the child does not have menstruation while breastfeeding, but has ovulation, this is a common situation for pregnancy. If your menstruation is irregular, your ovulation time may also be uncertain, and you can still get pregnant without your menstruation.

So sometimes you don't necessarily need menstruation to get pregnant, because you may have normal ovulation before your period. If you have sex during ovulation, you will get pregnant. So if you don't have your period for a long time, you should first check whether you are pregnant.

It is possible to get pregnant without having a period. Generally speaking, missed periods are often accompanied by anovulation. Even if follicles develop, most of them are immature, affecting the quality of the fetus. Therefore, from the perspective of eugenics, restoring normal ovulation is a prerequisite for female conception and fetal development. If menstruation is delayed, it may lead to infertility in severe cases.

There are two situations in which you can get pregnant without menstruation:

1. Dark menstruation: Some women of childbearing age have cyclical changes in the ovaries and endometrium, but no menstrual blood flows out. This situation is called "dark menstruation". Dark menstruation may be related to the lack of differentiation of the endometrial system. Dark menstruation does not affect women's pregnancy, childbirth and sexual life, but this situation is extremely rare.

2. Ovulation during lactation: After giving birth to a child, conception during breastfeeding is also a case of pregnancy without menstruation. It usually takes 3-6 months for women to resume normal menstruation after giving birth, and ovulation occurs 14 days before menstruation. If you have sex before menstruation resumes and it happens to be during the woman's ovulation period, then the chances of pregnancy are very high.
