Preterm birth survival rate at 35 weeks of gestation

A baby born at 35 weeks of pregnancy is also considered premature. Generally speaking, babies born before 37 weeks of pregnancy are considered premature babies, but around 35 weeks of pregnancy, the situation should be relatively better, and the baby's survival rate is relatively high, which should be close to 100%. During this period, the child's physical indicators are not fully developed, so good care is very important.

Preterm birth survival rate at 35 weeks of gestation

Live-born infants born before 37 weeks of gestation are called premature infants. Most of their birth weight is below 2500g and their head circumference is below 33cm. Their organ function and adaptability are worse than those of full-term infants, and premature infants should be given special care. Is the survival rate of premature babies born at 35 weeks high? Whether a premature baby can survive is related to the gestational age as well as the resistance of the premature baby. For premature babies born at 35 weeks of gestation, the gestational age is not too short. As long as they receive reasonable treatment, they have a great chance of survival.

Here are some tips for caring for premature babies:

1. Newborn premature babies should be kept quiet for 4 hours after entering the room, with their heads tilted to one side to allow mucus in their mouths to flow out. Then, they should change their positions gently every 2 to 3 hours.

2. Measure body temperature once every 4 hours. The difference between the daily maximum and minimum temperatures should not exceed 1°C. If the temperature has been stable between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius for more than three times, you can change to measuring once in the morning and once in the afternoon every day. If the body temperature is higher than 37℃ or lower than 36℃, it still needs to be measured once every 4 hours.

3. The use of oxygen is limited to those who have difficulty breathing, cyanosis, or are in poor condition. Do not use oxygen inhalation as a routine. Generally, the procedure can be stopped after a few hours of oxygen administration when the cyanosis disappears and breathing becomes normal. For premature babies weighing less than 1000g, it can last for 1 day and night. Continuous oxygen administration should not exceed 3 days. It is forbidden to release oxygen excessively, at too high a concentration, or for too long a time to avoid damaging the baby's eyes and lungs. Infants who are prone to cyanosis when feeding can be given oxygen inhalation for a few minutes before and after feeding.

What is the survival rate of premature births at 35 weeks? The survival rate of premature births at 35 weeks is still quite high. As long as the expectant mother takes good care of the baby, reads more parenting books, and follows scientific methods to care for the baby, the baby can grow up healthily. So as an expectant mother, you must not worry too much and maintain a good attitude. This will be good for both the baby and your own body.
