Vulvar dryness and itching

Vulvar dryness and itching

The most common diseases that occur in women are gynecological diseases. Because the female vagina is very sensitive, once bacterial infection or other viral infection occurs during sexual intercourse, gynecological problems are likely to occur. Therefore, women must pay attention to keeping their genitals clean and hygienic in their daily lives. What causes dry, itchy and painful vulva?

1. What causes dryness, itching and pain in the vulva?

This situation cannot be ruled out as being caused by vulvovaginitis, nor can it be ruled out as vulvar leukoplakia. Vaginitis can cause vaginal redness, swelling, congestion, contact pain, pain during sexual intercourse, or dryness, itching, etc. Secondly, consider whether it is caused by abnormal hormone levels. You can use gynecological washes such as Fuyanjie, Huohuojieeryin to rinse the area, then apply nifuratel, nystatin vaginal suppositories or take nifuratel capsules or other drugs orally in the vagina for treatment. If necessary, go to a regular hospital's gynecology department for routine leucorrhea and other systematic examinations.

2. Causes of vaginal dryness in women

A normal woman's vagina should not be dry. During sexual intercourse, the vagina will naturally secrete some fluid. These lubricants mainly come from cervical secretions, exudate formed by congestion of the vaginal wall, and secretions from the Bartholin's glands at the vaginal opening. During sexual intercourse, these fluids can only be secreted and gradually increase when sexual excitement reaches a certain level. If sexual excitement is insufficient, these lubricants will be secreted less or even not at all, which of course will lead to vaginal dryness. Some women may not have vaginal dryness originally, but it may appear after some special reasons. These special reasons are often caused by psychological or physiological factors.

3. Systemic causes of vulvar pruritus

1. Diabetes: Due to the irritation of diabetes to the vulvar skin, especially when accompanied by fungal vulvitis, vulvar itching is particularly severe. Many patients first seek medical attention due to itching and redness of the vulva, and are diagnosed with diabetes only after further examination.

2. When patients with chronic diseases such as jaundice, vitamin A deficiency, anemia, leukemia, etc. experience vulvar itching, it is often part of systemic itching.

3. Vulvar congestion during pregnancy and premenstrual period may occasionally cause vulvar itching and discomfort.

4. Unexplained vulvar itching: Some patients have very severe vulvar itching, but no obvious systemic or local cause can be found. Some people currently believe that it may be related to mental or psychological factors.
