Symptoms of heart disease in women

Appearance is determined by the heart. The heart is one of the most important organs in our human body. For any organism, the heart is the core of survival in this world. The health of the heart also has a huge impact on our health. I don’t know if you always pay attention to your heartbeat in daily life. The fluctuation of heartbeat can show whether you have heart disease. If there is abnormal fluctuation of heart, we must seek timely treatment. We should also know more about the symptoms of bad heart. Let’s take a look at the symptoms of bad heart in women.

First, I feel short of breath as soon as I lie down. The patient experiences shortness of breath after lying flat for a few minutes, which is slightly relieved after sitting up. At this time, it should be considered that the patient may have heart failure. This is because the amount of blood returning to the heart increases when lying flat, resulting in increased airway resistance and shortness of breath in the patient. At this time, you should go to the cardiology department in time to rule out the possibility of pulmonary disease.

Second, my chest feels heavy as if there is a huge stone. This is what we usually call "chest tightness". If emotional factors and changes in the functions of other organs such as the respiratory system are excluded, it should be considered that the patient may have myocardial ischemia. If chest tightness persists for several minutes without relief, or even severe chest pain occurs, it is very likely that angina pectoris or even acute myocardial infarction (abbreviated as "MI") has occurred. You should call 120 as soon as possible and rush to the nearest hospital. If conditions permit, you can take medicine such as nitroglycerin tablets or quick-acting heart-saving pills on your own.

Third, clothes and shoes suddenly become tight. When clothes and shoes become tighter, many people's first reaction may be that they have gained weight, but for patients with heart disease, it may indicate impaired heart function. This is due to a decrease in cardiac output (the total amount of blood ejected by the ventricles per minute), a decrease in renal blood flow, and a decrease in water excreted from the body, resulting in lower limb edema and weight gain (especially if the weight gain exceeds 2 kg within 3 days), and you need to seek medical attention immediately.

Fourth, loss of appetite. In addition to loss of appetite, patients with impaired heart function may also experience symptoms such as abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting, constipation, and upper abdominal pain. These are mostly caused by right heart failure and gastrointestinal congestion.

Fifth, dizziness. Dizziness is common in daily life. Poor sleep, cervical spondylosis, and high blood pressure are common causes. However, dizziness and lightheadedness accompanied by significantly low blood pressure may be caused by impaired heart function. In severe cases, life-threatening conditions such as syncope and cardiogenic shock may occur. At this time, you should seek medical attention immediately.

Sixth, anxiety. Anxiety and uneasiness in normal people are mostly related to emotions, but some people still feel palpitations, heart palpitations, and restlessness even when their emotions are stable, which requires consideration of whether they have heart disease. Increased heart rate and irregular heartbeat are common causes of palpitations and anxiety, which are mostly caused by functional or organic changes in the heart. Early intervention should be made to prevent further aggravation of symptoms.

Seventh, persistent coughing. Most people with a cold will experience symptoms such as coughing and fever, and the coughing will not differ much between day and night. However, some people do not have fever or other cold-like symptoms, but only have a persistent cough, which is more common in the evening than at night, and is more obvious when lying down than when sitting up. At this time, you should be alert to whether your heart function is damaged. This may be due to pulmonary congestion causing airway irritation, which may be accompanied by coughing up white foamy sputum, blood-stained sputum, and even pink foamy sputum in acute attacks.

Eighth, easy to get tired or feel weak all day long. Many heart disease patients begin to suffer from fatigue or easy fatigability, which is mostly due to damaged left ventricular function, reduced cardiac output, and inability to meet peripheral tissue perfusion.

Ninth, oliguria and lower limb edema. Many people often think that oliguria and lower limb edema are caused by kidney problems. In fact, impaired heart function can lead to insufficient blood flow to the kidneys or excessive venous pressure, often resulting in oliguria and lower limb edema. Long-term ischemia of the kidneys can lead to deterioration of renal function, proteinuria, increased blood creatinine, and a vicious cycle of worsening heart failure.

If any or all of the above-mentioned "sad" symptoms occur, you should seek medical attention immediately. Follow your doctor's advice to rule out related diseases. After a clear diagnosis, you should strictly follow the doctor's instructions for medication and other treatments, and avoid changing or stopping medications on your own.
