What are the symptoms of Crohn's disease?

What are the symptoms of Crohn's disease?

There are many classifications of enteritis, including localized enteritis. In fact, localized enteritis is vulvar Crohn's disease. Many people may be unfamiliar with this disease. It is actually a gynecological disease. The disease is contagious. If a family has this disease, the incidence rate of the next generation will be higher. In addition, it may be caused by bacterial or viral infection, etc. So once you suffer from localized enteritis, what symptoms will the patient have?

Clinical manifestations of regional enteritis:

Most patients with vaginal Crohn's disease have ileocolitis or a history of intestinal resection. The vulvar lesions of Crohn's disease can clinically manifest as vulvar swelling, vulvar tenderness, perineal ulcers, skin fissures, and skin tags. Other rare symptoms include bilateral or unilateral vulvar hypertrophy, multiform erythema, vulvar abscess, and perineal fistula or sinus formation. About half of the patients will also experience menstrual abnormalities.

Common symptoms are fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fatigue. Some patients experience abdominal distension and lower abdominal masses, and a few patients develop perianal fistulas and sinus tracts, which may communicate with the abdominal cavity. Extraintestinal damage includes joints, skin, liver and gallbladder, etc., which can manifest as arthritis, fatty liver, pericholangitis, sclerosing cholangitis, perihepatic abscess, and other rare symptoms include erythema nodosum, pyoderma gangrenosum, malabsorption syndrome, glossitis, pharyngeal ulcers, etc.

Burgdorf et al classified extraintestinal lesions of Crohn's disease into four categories:

1. Skin granulomas include sinus tracts and fistula formation around the anorectal area.

2. Aphthous ulcers on the oral mucosa.

3. Nutritional changes such as zinc, iron and folic acid deficiency.

4. Idiopathic lesions include multilineage erythema, acquired epidermolysis bullosa, and necrotizing vasculitis. Among them, perianal skin lesions are the most common. In some cases of Crohn's disease, the first symptom is perianal lesions.

examine

Blood trace element examination, blood routine examination, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, etc. If there are lesions in other parts of the body, corresponding examinations need to be done to assist the examination. In addition, a biopsy should be performed for pathological examination.

diagnosis

If young women with intestinal Crohn's disease have the above-mentioned vulva manifestations, Crohn's disease may involve the vulva. The diagnosis can only be confirmed if non-caseating granulomas are found in the biopsy tissue and other related diseases can be ruled out.
