What is the reason for brown discharge half a month after menstruation?

Women have such a few days every month. Menstruation is a regular occurrence for healthy women. Some women have their periods on time, but they have brown discharge half a month after their periods. They don’t know what causes this. This situation is usually caused by ovulation day, and gynecological diseases cannot be ruled out. If bleeding occurs for a long time, you need to go for examination and treatment in time. What is the reason for brown discharge half a month after menstruation? Let’s take a look at it next.

1. What causes brown discharge half a month after menstruation?

If brown discharge appears in the middle of the menstrual period, it is considered to be ovulation bleeding, which is mostly related to low estrogen levels. Generally, it does not exceed three days. If it lasts for a long time, it may be caused by gynecological diseases and should be checked and treated in time.

2. How to calculate ovulation period

1. Calculate the menstrual cycle. This method is suitable for women with regular menstrual cycles. Counting from the first day of menstruation, the ovulation period is 14±2 days. For example: If the menstrual cycle is 28 days and the first day of menstruation is July 28, then one of the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th of this month is the ovulation day.

2. Observe the cervical mucus. Women usually have very little vaginal discharge just after menstruation, and it appears thick and sticky. In the middle of the menstrual period, that is, 1-2 days before ovulation, the vagina will become more and more moist. Not only will the secretions increase, but they will also become clear and transparent like egg white. You can pull out long threads when you touch them with your fingertips. The appearance of such vaginal discharge indicates that ovulation is imminent, which usually lasts for 3-5 days. After that, the vaginal secretions will gradually decrease and become thick and sticky and can no longer be drawn into threads.

3. Feel pain in the lower abdomen. When ovulation occurs, there will be a dull pain in the lower abdomen, especially on the right or left side of the lower abdomen. Some women experience severe pain when the egg is released from the ovary. This painful feeling is a signal of ovulation, and this day is also the ovulation day.

4. Measure basal body temperature. What is basal body temperature? Basal body temperature refers to the body temperature measured after 6-8 hours of sleep, without eating, exercising, emotional fluctuations, or other behaviors that change body temperature. The temperature records measured by date are connected into a curve, which is called the basal body temperature curve. The basal body temperature curve can be used to summarize a pattern, that is, the body temperature is lower in the first half of menstruation and rises in the second half of menstruation. This biphasic body temperature curve, which is low at the beginning and high at the end and fluctuates up and down, is called a biphasic body temperature curve. A biphasic body temperature curve indicates that the ovaries have ovulated, and ovulation usually occurs before the body temperature rises or during the process of rising from low to high. Women whose body temperature changes during ovulation are not obvious can measure several menstrual cycles more often so that they can understand their ovulation patterns. The menstrual period and one week after the menstrual period are a period of continuous low temperature. After transitioning to a high temperature period, it returns to the low temperature period, and then the process is repeated in the next menstrual period. On the day that marks the transition from the low temperature period to the high temperature period and becomes the dividing point, the basal body temperature will be particularly low. Taking this day as the center, the 2 days before and 3 days after are the ovulation days.

3. Notes

Do not catch a cold, eat cold food, or overwork on the day of ovulation.
