How many days after menstruation is the fertile period?

Older couples only focus on their work every day and forget to have children at the right time. When they are almost over the age limit, they finally decide to have a baby under pressure from their elders. But in their haste to achieve success, they always end up with the opposite result. If you want to get pregnant, you need to understand when is the best time to conceive. You cannot be blind and have no plan. So how many days after menstruation is the best time to conceive? Let’s learn together!

Ovulation is the process during each menstrual cycle when hormonal changes trigger the ovary to release an egg, which happens only once per cycle. Ovulation usually occurs 12 to 16 days before the start of the next menstrual period.

The eggs are contained in the ovaries. At the beginning of each menstrual cycle, an egg grows and matures.

These higher levels of estrogen trigger a surge in another hormone called LH (luteinizing hormone). The surge in LH hormone causes a mature egg to be released from the ovary, a process known as ovulation.

Ovulation usually occurs 24-36 hours after the LH surge, so the LH surge is a good predictor of peak fertility.

After ovulation, the egg can only be fertilized for up to 24 hours. If fertilization is not achieved, the uterine lining is shed (taking the egg with it) and menstruation occurs. This marks the beginning of the next menstrual cycle.

The egg can only survive for up to 24 hours, while the sperm can survive for up to 5 days. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand why couples can have sex 4-5 days before the egg is released and successfully conceive.

Taking into account the lifespan of sperm and egg, the total "fertility window" is about 6 days. Pregnancy is possible through unprotected intercourse at this time. As we mentioned earlier, ovulation usually occurs 12-16 days before the start of your next menstrual period, so the timing of ovulation depends on the length of your menstrual cycle. The truth is, the average menstrual cycle is 28 days long, but this isn’t the “average” for everyone. Cycle lengths vary from woman to woman and from one period to another – in fact, 46% of women have cycles that fluctuate by seven or more days[ii]. Therefore, if you want to get pregnant, you must have sex on a fertile day. If you want to determine when you are most likely to get pregnant, you must understand your body and menstrual cycle.

To calculate the length of your menstrual cycle, count the days from the first day of your period to the day before your next menstrual period.

The length of the menstrual cycle varies from woman to woman and at different times, but is usually between 23-35 days.

Only by mastering the scientific time of conception can sperm not be wasted. At the same time, don't put too much pressure on the other person. Relax and welcome the arrival of new life with a relaxed attitude. Master these scientific bases, take good care of your body, relax your mind, and one day what is supposed to come will come. A healthy baby will meet you unexpectedly.
