When does a little girl have her period?

When does a little girl have her period?

We know that menstruation is a sign of female maturity. As people's nutrition improves, children reach sexual maturity earlier and earlier. Some children start menstruating at the age of twelve or thirteen. In order to allow children to grow and develop better, parents need to give their children correct sex education, which can avoid psychological burden on children and also make their bodies healthier. So, when do little girls usually get their period?

1. Age of onset

Menarche usually occurs during puberty, usually between the ages of 11 and 19. Very rarely, menstruation occurs before the age of 10 or after the age of 19.

The early or late menarche is generally believed to be closely related to genetics. If the mother has her first menstruation early, her daughter will also have her first menstruation early; if the mother has her first menstruation late, her daughter may also have her first menstruation late. But this is not absolute, it will also be affected by other factors. The early or late menarche is also related to living in cities or rural areas. The age of menarche in urban girls is earlier than that in rural girls. The reason for this is that it is generally believed that among people with a higher standard of living, good nutrition and health, girls not only grow faster physically, but also have their first menstruation earlier. Some people also believe that because the urban lifestyle increases contact between the sexes, some have more opportunities to come into contact with sexual knowledge, which in turn causes the nervous system to regulate the endocrine glands, causing the sex-related endocrine system to become active prematurely, thus bringing forward menarche.

2. Psychological Guidance

First, parents and teachers should teach girls who are experiencing menarche about the physiology and sexual psychology of puberty, so that they understand that menarche is an inevitable part of physical development and a sign of entering puberty, and there is no need to worry. At the same time, they should be fully prepared mentally for the discomforts such as low back pain, drowsiness, fatigue, and weakness that may occur during the first menstruation, so as to avoid panic and increase the psychological burden.

Second, during menarche, you should avoid participating in strenuous sports, long-distance cycling and running, etc., so as to prevent excessive fatigue from causing a decrease in resistance and inducing diseases such as colds.

Third, the vulva should be cleaned frequently during menstruation and masturbation should be avoided, because the body's resistance is reduced during this stage, and if you do not pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene, it is very easy to cause bacterial infection and fever.

Fourth, strengthen self-protection. Never use inferior sanitary napkins for the sake of saving money, and never replace them with ordinary toilet paper and straw paper that are not strictly disinfected.

Fifth, pay attention to rest and ensure adequate sleep time. Eating nutritious meals that are easy to digest and absorb is very beneficial for strengthening the body and restoring energy.

Sixth, avoid contact with cold water, keep warm, and it is best not to swim.

Preventing the occurrence of dysmenorrhea is the most important factor, and mothers should help their daughters prevent it.

First, I should urge my daughter to strengthen her physical exercise and keep a cheerful mood.

Second, teach your daughter more about menstrual physiology, talk to her more often, and help her eliminate her fear, anxiety, and tension about menstruation.

Third, cultivate children's hygiene habits from an early age and make them pay attention to menstrual hygiene.

Fourth, pay attention to a regular life and combine work and rest; especially during menstruation, remind your daughter to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive fatigue.

Fifth, pay attention to nutritional balance and ensure adequate sleep; eat more light and easily digestible foods, and eat less cold, raw or irritating foods.
